Hello, due to have twin boys in a few weeks - what do people think about Alexander Samuel and Franklin George? They already have two older brothers called Joseph Charles and Nicholas Henry. Thanks Smile
@ZoyaTheDestroyer nope, not really sure what you’re talking about Grin
Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, and George Washington were three of the Founding Fathers of the USA (Samuel Adams is also included by some, which collects the set with your first and middle names!). With the popularity of the musical Hamilton I think you would find that increasing numbers of people would make the connection.

Frank is great but I really dislike Franklin - much prefer just Frank or Francis if you want a longer form.

Anastasia1988 · 01/07/2020 20:22

@ZoyaTheDestroyer the names might not be the best idea then lmao. I was also thinking that Joseph, Nicholas and Franklin might get associated with the Jonas Brothers (Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas and Frankie Jonas, although I’m not sure if Frankie was part of the band), which could be an issue too.

Prefer Alex to Frank. What about Sampson instead of Samuel?

Anappleaday1 · 01/07/2020 21:38

Love Alexander, but really dislike Frankin - sorry. Other suggestions:
Benjamin
Matthew
Sebastian
Henry
James
Stanley
Louis
Charlie
Joshua

Oh, I love your names OP, especially Franklin, but I’m biased, as got one of my own Wink I would stick to your original choice Flowers

MikeUniformMike · 02/07/2020 15:00

@BabyLlamaZen,
There's no p in Samson.

Harryno · 02/07/2020 15:29

Frederick? - Fred or Freddy?

I love that name - love your other names too.
❤️

Sampson is a valid variation, I believe. There is a St Sampson’s church which is now a community centre in York.

daisypond · 02/07/2020 19:06

Saint Sampson - with the p - was a Welsh-born saint, born in the 500s. Named after the Biblical Samson - without the p. Learn something new every day!

Not keen on Franklin, I prefer Francis.

AristotleAteMyHamster · 02/07/2020 23:47

I like both names, but together they make me think you’re trying to pay tribute to US politicians.

MojoJojo71 · 02/07/2020 23:50

How about Alexander Samuel and James Franklin? (The latter is my DS’s name so I’m a bit biased)

BookShop · 02/07/2020 23:54

Both good names.

Chienloup · 02/07/2020 23:57

Both fantastic strong names.

Viviennemary · 02/07/2020 23:59

I like all the names except Franklin. That's pretty dire.

zingally · 05/07/2020 12:09

Sounds like you're going for an American president theme. Bit twee.

And Franklin is a bit "hip and trendy" when put together with the other boys in the family. I'd either drop the "lin" and just have Frank, or go with the middle name George instead.
