Out of your boys list I love.
Jude
Lachlan.

I quite like Hudson. Macaulay and Jax are okay, but I don't particularly like them.

Don't like the others. I still can't get past Adrian Mole when i hear Adrian.
Austin is just awful.

Girls list.

I love
Indi.
Piper
Peyton.
Darcie.

Sienna I blow hot and cold on at the moment I'm cold.

I can't abide Isla.

Don't like but don't hate Wren.

I like Kerr and Austin best and would add in Keir and Gregor.

Not a particular fan of any of the girls as they aren't my style but all fine.

I'd add in Ailsa and Lorna.

JaggedlittlePhil · 28/06/2020 12:45

Malachi

Cassidy

MaverickDanger · 28/06/2020 12:49

Adore Lachlan, it’s our top boys name if this one turns out to be a boy. DH is holding out for Maverick and we also like Torin. I love Stellan but he isn’t keen.

None of the girls names are jumping out. What about:

Marnie
Billie
Noa
Remy

ButDoUAvocado · 28/06/2020 12:50

Kerr just makes me think of wanker so I’d discount it for that reason but I love Keir.

Kester?

Prefer Malachi to Macauley

Love Indi, Austin and Peyton.

Other suggestions:
Chase
Flynn
Jago

Juno
Willow

autumngold6 · 28/06/2020 12:54

I like Lachlan, Jude, Isla, Sienna

Thistlegirl4 · 28/06/2020 13:10

Lachlan and Sienna would be my choices out of your lists.

DanniArthur · 28/06/2020 13:15

Favourite boys names are Lachlan and Hudson. Favourite girls name is Isla but also love Hadley which was suggested in another post.

Ohshitx · 28/06/2020 13:27

Hudson is a favourite, along with Kerr. I do also like Keir now it’s been mentioned. I thought I liked Adrian, but now that I see it written I can’t help but think of Rocky Hmm

The girls names are tricky. I’m more settled that I’ll find a boys name I love, girls names aren’t jumping out 😫

daisypond · 28/06/2020 13:33

Jude, Austin, Lachlan for boys. Jax is particularly bad.

Only Sienna from your girl names. Isla is nice but very popular. None of the others.

applesauce1 · 28/06/2020 13:42

Boys

Kerr - meh. Feels like more of a sound than a name
Jax - awful
Lachlan - lovely
Macauley - a surname
Adrian - Adrian Mole
Jude - lovely
Austin - State Capital or Powers. Sounds American but it's not awful.
Hudson - a river or a dog's name

Girls

Wren - lovely
Darcie - a bit too twee
Indi - ok
Peyton - Manning. Very American
Sienna - yes
Isla - lovely but very popular
Harper - ok
Piper - reminds me of the Pied Piper. Again. Very American to my ears.

Can I suggest Robyn for a girl?

BumpLoading · 28/06/2020 13:44

I love Wren, it was on my girls for a middle name list!
From the boys I like Austin and Hudsom the best. (Intrigued by Lachlan, I don't know how to pronounce it)

Spied · 28/06/2020 13:46

WaxOnFeckOff · 28/06/2020 14:09

(Intrigued by Lachlan, I don't know how to pronounce it)

Scottish here so proper pronunciation is probably not something that most English folk can manage (or I can adequately describe!) you need to make a noise in the back of your throat that is difficult if you've not done it from childhood Smile.

So English would be Lack lan, I wouldn't bat an eyelid at that.

sweetnosugar · 28/06/2020 14:10

Love Lachlan!!

WaxOnFeckOff · 28/06/2020 14:17

Pronunciation in link above. Woman sounds like she would stab you and take your chips!

Merename · 28/06/2020 14:20

Like Lachlan and Jude, none of the rest, sorry. Especially loathe indi, or any name spelled like that.

whatausername · 28/06/2020 14:51

I hate Lachlan because so many people fck up the pronunciation. Why use the name if you can't produce the sound? Arrrgh. And I don't care much for anglicising everything! rant over

I really like Jude and Austin from your list. Adrian is fine but it feels very 90s.

Sienna, Isla and Wren are all nice from your list. Piper makes me think of the sister in Charmed or the actress from Coyote Ugly so feels very 90s American to me. Not that there's anything wrong with the 90s, it's just too recent to be cool I think.

Maduixa · 28/06/2020 15:06

My nephew's a Lachlan - love it, but for people who don't understand the Scots "ch", it does run the risk of being pronounced something like LACK-lan or LOCK-lan (or even LACK-linn/LOCK-linn). (I'd give the woman in the video my chips if she asked, but the real life pronunciation is quite a bit softer!)

I like Adrian, despite Mole - have Hadrian on my list.

I also like Keir (or even Keith, or Leith) better than Kerr, and love Jax as a nickname: maybe for Jackson, Jason, James, or even Jonathan.

I like Wren, Sien(n)a, and Isla from your girls' list.

Some other possibles (apologies for duplicates from PP):

B: Adair, Anselm, Ciaran/Kieran, Cillian/Kilian, Cormac, Ewan, Justin, Ringan, Stellan, Tristan

G: Alison, Blair, Blythe, Eilidh, Elin, Erin, Esme, Geneva, Ginevra, Greer, Honor, Liadan, Mirren, Morven, Paige, Seren

Either: Arran, Avery, Blake, Lennox, Morgan, Robin, Sage, Teagan
