Little girl arrived on Wednesday and she's absolutely beautiful. We're smitten but we still haven't decided on a name! I had a really horrendous pregnancy including depression and I just can't decide what she looks like, please help! Her brother is Oliver, surname is Haywood.

This is our list so far, happy to use either name for first or middle name, or if anyone has any other recommendations they would be much appreciated as I am starting to feel more than a little bit useless Sad!

Harper
Florence
Ella
Dulcie
Eden
Isabella
Neve/Neave

Thanks you wonderful MNers Grin

Harper

Emiliana as an alternative to Harper?

twinkledag · 23/06/2020 20:38

As an alternative to Emily I mean!

Congratulations!

I like Florence & Isabella. Ella is cute too but I’d leave it as a possible nn. for Isabella. I don’t like the others at all..

My Oliver has 3 sisters. Beatrice, Annabel & Charlotte 😊

Grace Isabella Hayward

Oliver and Grace
Grace and Oliver

That's my vote 😂

Florence is lovely and I wouldnt use a nickname.

HedgeHogFoxBadger · 24/06/2020 22:41

Harper is lovely too x

@StayClosePooky Florence is my favourite from your list by a long way. Have you considered Beatrice / Beatrix? Possible nn Bea. I personally think Ella / Isabella sound too close to Oliver, I would try to avoid names ending in a -a or -er sound if possible. Imogen and Oliver sound nice together imo, same letter and syllable count, both have vowel starts and same classic feel and Imogen can’t be shortened.

StayClosePooky · 26/06/2020 15:17

Thank you all so much!

We've now named her - Lily Dulcie Haywood

So wasn't even any of the names on the short list Grin

We just heard lily and liked at her and she completely suited it!

Thanks anyway, really glad we waited a week to name her or I don't think I would've been happy with my choice

Xx

I like Florence, Eden, Ella and Isabella.

Flora, Genevieve and Madeline are also nice suggestions.
