Tigerlily

Has anyone used it? Would it be better as just Tigerlily or Tiger as a first and Lily as a middle. I've recently fallen for this name but I don't know if I'm brave enough to use it. Haven't even mentioned it to DH as I'm still trying to decide how I feel about it.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DramaAlpaca · 17/05/2020 22:55

Oh dear, no. On a toddler, cute. On an adult woman, just no. I can't imagine trying to carry off a name like that.

amazedmummy · 17/05/2020 22:55

I like it but it's what I called the cat.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/05/2020 22:56

How about the actual name is Lily but - if it turns out to suit the child - you could use Tigerlily as a nickname?

TerribleCustomerCervix · 17/05/2020 22:59

Reminds me of the old fashioned racism in Disney’s Peter Pan, with Princess Tigerlily and What Makes The Red Man Red Envy < not envy

FartnissEverbeans · 17/05/2020 23:05

It’s awesome but a big name to pull off. I don’t think I would suit it, for example!

MaMaMyCorona · 17/05/2020 23:07

I honestly love it but I like weird hippy names so Smile

Wheresthebiffer2 · 18/05/2020 00:28

nah. Just Lily is nice though.

MintyMurray17 · 18/05/2020 03:26

I know a Tigerlily, who goes by Tiggy, and it suits her down to the ground! Smile

SiaPR · 18/05/2020 03:28

Yes, I only think of Peter Pan. Maybe people will just assume you are a racist.

Andahelterskelterroundmylittle · 18/05/2020 04:38

It's a cat's name. Nope

tillytown · 18/05/2020 04:49

My 17 year old dog is called Tigerlily, and I know of five other animals called it too, so no

Packamack · 18/05/2020 04:52

How about 'Myparentshavenopostcompulsoryeducation'?

That's a nice name.

ifigoup · 18/05/2020 05:31

It’s a beautiful name. All one word.

lockdownstress · 18/05/2020 05:39

Poor kid. Naming a child isn't about showing the world how clever you are.

wondertime · 18/05/2020 06:59

I love it! :)

Spirali · 18/05/2020 09:45

I LOVE THIS NAME Grin

Fiflowertot · 18/05/2020 10:33

I know a Tigerlily. She gets called Tiger, has done all her life!
Truthfully I’m not a huge fan!
However your baby your choice. Flowers

LilQueenie · 18/05/2020 10:38

Love it.

YesNoYesMaybe · 18/05/2020 11:01

I love the name because it was my nick name as a kid but there is no way in a million years I'd lumber a kid with that name.

How about Ziggy.

Notajogger · 18/05/2020 11:06

Why don't you try introducing yourself to strangers as Tigerlily for a few months and see how you feel. Please don't lumber that onto a kid. Or Tiger.

Another one who it reminds of Peter Pan and its racism!

CoalCraft · 18/05/2020 12:15

I'm sorry if this sounds rude but to me it sounds like something you'd name your cart or dog, not your child

Edenember · 18/05/2020 12:27

I’m very liberal but it would be a bit out there for me personally, I don’t like to judge but unfortunately people do and i think it would be very difficult to pull off, particularly as an adult. Perhaps a middle name?

lockdownstress · 18/05/2020 13:06

exactly this

thumbelina03 · 18/05/2020 14:15

Just no!

IsadoraQuagmire · 18/05/2020 14:27

Well it's a flower name (though not as one word) I don't see why Tiger Lily should be thought more outlandish than Rose, Violet or Daisy really.
