My wife has posted a couple of lists of ours on here. I'm here to put forward my favourite name, which she isn't keen on, to see what responses it gets. Maybe I can get it back on our boys list?!

Not sure why but Beowulf was the first thing that came in to my mind.

If you're into the Wolf-part maybe you can compromise on similar names - Wolfgang, Wilfred, Wolfram, Wulfgar.

Or a similar-sounding yet established name such as Ulrich ?

I don't usually like these very unusual names but I quite like this one. But it's probably a bit too way out to use for an actual baby unless you are a rock star or supermodel.

I feel like I've stepped into an alternative universe reading these replies. Wulfric is horrendous, sorry. Get a dog and call it Wulfric. Give your kid a name that won't make him hate you.

I knew a Wulf years ago, which is probably short for Wulfric then? Not keen on the long version but Wulf is cool.

How would you be pronouncing it? Like Wulf-rick or Wulf-ritch? I would probably assume it was the latter but would also expect most people to go for the other option.

I only hope this is joke. What is it with these name posts? I call it cruelty to children. Probably yoy all want your kids to stand up to bullies

In principle it's ok but it'll almost inevitably get shortened to Wulf (still a ok name)... BUT the problem with Wulf is that the names "Wilf" and "Wolf" are dramatically increasing in popularity and your little Wulf will continually get misheard as Wilf or Wolf

My friend's wife vetoed Alaric which I also like.

I did actually know a Wulfric. He was known as Wulfie in our friendship group. Tbh that was a lot better than some of the other nicknames around at 16!

Willard (can be Will!)
Wilf
Eric (clean, simple, Nordic vibe)

A bit further off your list I know babies called Soren and Stellan and both are lovely boys names, too.

In the original Old English it’d be pronounced Wulf-rich.

I think it’s cool. I like Wulf/Wolf. Wolfie is a cute nickname
