My wife has posted a couple of lists of ours on here. I'm here to put forward my favourite name, which she isn't keen on, to see what responses it gets. Maybe I can get it back on our boys list?!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes. A BETTER one.”

i know an Eldred. when he was small it was brilliant, and he’s grown into it splendidly.

I love it - brilliant name!

I also think the diminutives are great wulf/wulfie/rich...

Would only say you need to decide the pronunciation - as a pp said it would have been pronounced Wulfrich that's not to say you can't pronounce it as spelt in modern terms just that it's worth making a conscious decision on (and tbh if you're going old school on the name I personally think you should follow through on the pronunciation otherwise it's a bit naff and suggests you didn't really "know" the name).

Makegoodchoices · 14/05/2020 23:58

It’s bloody awful.

TheSandman · 14/05/2020 23:59

I LOVE Wulfric - I wanted to call our son 'Toshiro Thundercats' but I was overruled. Go for it! It's a seriously brilliant name.

FuckYouCovid · 15/05/2020 00:29

Love it but then I also love Murdock and Lazarus.

CuppaZa · 15/05/2020 00:36

I know I’m in the minority here, but I think it’s diabolical

CuppaZa · 15/05/2020 00:37

I completely thought this was a joke thread at first

LizzyButton · 15/05/2020 00:41

It's the sort of name that leads to a lot of copying in a monastery, or becoming a bishop or even a synod at Whitby when there isn't a goth fest. Or maybe when there is.

WomanIsTaken · 15/05/2020 00:44

Of course. You could have named my babies, I trust you implicitly.
If I met the parents of a baby Wulfric, I would be properly impressed and think them strong-minded, independent, free-thinking and creative. Do it.

Whataloadofshite · 15/05/2020 01:22

oh dear no.

DramaAlpaca · 15/05/2020 02:48

I'm sorry but that is one godawful name.

Lavenderblues · 15/05/2020 08:01

I think Wulfric sounds strong and is a good name.

Much nicer than Wilfred imo.

SpringSpringTime · 15/05/2020 11:09

Well OP if you’ve been on MN before you’ll know that baby name threads are seldom this cheerful! Has your wife softened at all?

Carouselfish · 15/05/2020 15:11

A friend has a Wolfie, full name Wolfric or...maybe she did spell it Wulfric? I need to check!

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 15/05/2020 15:15

I love it! I'm adding it to my list Grin

notalwaysalondoner · 15/05/2020 15:22

It seems a real marmite name!

I personally think it’s awful.

Makes me think of monks, vikings or someone into heavy metal.

BettyUnderswoob · 15/05/2020 15:48

Another alternative is Wulfstan. I like this too.
But you can't go wrong with any name alluding to wolves, really.

Danielle43 · 16/05/2020 20:37

Just call it Keith
