Violet or Vivienne?

My partner and I cannot agree on a baby name!

Vivienne Lila (his choice)
or
Violet Ava (my choice)

Please help us decide!

Violet is our top choice for a girl, it does some to be getting very popular now. I hope not though as having a very common name myself (my name isn’t Elsie) I prefer names that are bit more unusual.

I really like Violet, but I have that Prince song in my head, so maybe not!! It feels slightly tainted
Vivienne has an old fashioned glamour to it which I like.

Violet. Vivienne makes me think of a woman in her sixties who shortens it to Viv.

Violet all the way. I never understand why Vivienne is so popular on MN. I find it so dated and Viv is just awful!

Violet 100%, beautiful. Vivienne is ok but makes me think of old women, especially when shortened to Viv. But either way, make sure you choose based on a joint decision rather than what we think 😊

Violet is lovely and timeless.

Vivienne, not so much.

I like Vivien -spelt that way which is a nicer and classier spelling.
