Sorry to post again, we still haven’t decided on a name for our little girl due imminently. We’ve ruled out lots and think we’re now settled on either Sophie or Eleanor. Which would you vote for?

I prefer Sophie - I'm bored of all the vowely names.

LizzieAnt · 08/04/2020 21:23

I like Eleanor.

SilverBangle · 08/04/2020 21:25

Sophie

BelfastNonBlonde · 08/04/2020 21:25

I’m sorry - but either! Both are gorgeous!! Which goes best with surname, and do you have a middle name?

Sophie Eleanor [Surname] actually sounds quite nice!

Orphlids · 08/04/2020 21:27

Both nice. Sophie is my favourite though.

Whatsyourflava · 08/04/2020 21:33

Both are so gorgeous
I think I have a slight preference for Sophie as Eleanor could get shortened to Ellie and I’m not so keen
But honestly, both are so beautiful

Ooarrrzomerzet · 08/04/2020 21:33

Eleanor. Sophie is so dull and 90s

MrsWobble3 · 08/04/2020 21:34

I went for Sophie Eleanor in your position and haven’t regretted it yet.

DramaAlpaca · 08/04/2020 21:35

Sophie for me, though I like Eleanor too.

babynamelover · 08/04/2020 21:37

I prefer Eleanor, to Sophie but I live in New Zealand and Sophie was so popular many years ago here :)
Eleanor also has more nickname options :)

ofwarren · 08/04/2020 21:38

Sophie is my favourite

BilboBercow · 08/04/2020 21:38

I find Sophie is a bit overused now. Definitely prefer Eleanor

ShrimpSymphony · 08/04/2020 21:40

Sophie

Twickerhun · 08/04/2020 21:42

I know a lot of baby Sophie’s and Sofia / Sophia’s no young Eleanor’s if that makes any difference (although a few teenage Ellie’s)

hoping2018 · 08/04/2020 22:19

Eleanor

SallyWD · 08/04/2020 22:30

I love Eleanor.
I've always found Sophie a little dull and wet.

loopylindazdaughter · 08/04/2020 22:35

Both very very beautiful names, although I adore Eleanor, always have

MrsBungle · 08/04/2020 22:37

Eleanor.

Staffori · 08/04/2020 22:37

Love both but Sophie is SO common, I'd go for Eleanor.

schafernaker · 08/04/2020 22:38

Sophie! My DD is obsessed with the tiger who came to tea at the moment and I love the name the more I hear it. Shame she has an aunty sophie 😂.

If I were you I’d be naming her sophie and buying her a tiger jelly cat toy ❤️

Crunched · 08/04/2020 22:41

I like both but, if you are likely to abbreviate, I think Eleanor has more options; Ellie, Elle, Nellie etc. I know some hate to shorten but it may well happen in any case.

NeedToKnow101 · 08/04/2020 22:45

Sophie

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 08/04/2020 22:54

Sophie is lovely and underused. I find Eleanor quite harsh. Ellie is cute for a wee girl but rather twee for an adult human female, in my opinion

KatherineJaneway · 08/04/2020 22:58

I much prefer Eleanor.

Astronica · 09/04/2020 01:21

I think both are lovely but I'd probably choose Eleanor.
