Do you like Peter for a little boy? DGF's name so does also have meaning to us.

It’s a nice name. It only works when naming after someone important like a grandfather. If someone said they picked it because they just liked it, I would find that a bit unusual.

Marcipex · 09/04/2020 23:49

Good name.

Meaniebobeanie · 09/04/2020 23:53

Yes I love that name. It be nice to hear a baby called Peter.

PsuedoSatisfactionBaby · 11/04/2020 06:53

I love it. Possibly influenced by the fact I only know two Peters - one in his 50s and one in his mid 20s who are among the smartest, funny and intelligent people I know. If I had a son I’d be lobbying for a Peter!

emilybrontescorsett · 11/04/2020 09:13

I'm afraid it reminds me of Peter Sutcluffe.

2beautifulbabs · 11/04/2020 09:44

Love the name it's my dads name and he's a great bloke if my DD had been a boy I had planned on using the name as a middle name as we already have my son but he was first born and we used my husband middle name for my son

Carouselfish · 11/04/2020 19:25

Not keen. Weak in the same way as Simon and Timothy. Probably to do with the ones I went to school with.

nellythenarwhal · 11/04/2020 19:30

Good name but not if your surname is Griffin or he has a brother called Henry.

ChikiTIKI · 11/04/2020 20:03

I love the name Peter and would have used it a couple of weeks ago if I hadn't had a girl.

However my husband met a woman at uni called Peter (although I think she spelling was different).

nellythenarwhal · 11/04/2020 22:15

I knew an Australian woman called Peter. I can't remember the story behind her name though.

bridgetreilly · 12/04/2020 00:08

Yes.

That’ll be the women’s name Peta.

careworkerandproud · 15/04/2020 21:37

Do it!! Classic and underused

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 15/04/2020 21:41

I like it. A good solid name.

Haz1516 · 16/04/2020 11:23

I really like Peter. Due a comeback and very classic.

Electrical · 16/04/2020 12:23

It’s ok but I don’t like the way it’s pronounced in loads of accents- various English accents would say ‘peetah/pee-ah’ and my own one says it as ‘peeder’.

BrighamSinclair · 16/04/2020 12:41
