Louise or Ivy?

After narrowing down a long list of names we've decided our favourite are Louise & Ivy

What are your thoughts on each and do you have any suggestions you think we may like?

Her middle name will be Meryl for 100% as it's in honour of my late God mother who was literally an angel to my life. Surname is Colombo.

TIA & hope everyone is staying safe :)

Eloise would be better than Louise

I prefer Louise to Eloise. Eloise seems a bit tryhard and is yet alother El- name, plus I can't get The Damned out of my mind.

Louise was so popular as a mn in the 70s and 80s. Lolly is cute as a nn. I think I heard it on Neighbours.

Luisa

Louise!! It's a lovely, timeless name and totally overdue a comeback. Don't be tempted by Louisa. A name doesn't have to have an a plonked on the end to be pretty.

@BatleyTownswomensGuild Thank you! Always loved Louise Smile

Really like Ivy!

Louise seems quite dated to me, Louisa may work tho or Eloise or another Lou name perhaps Louella?
Ivy is sweet, short and punchy 😃

CallMeOnMyCell · 08/04/2020 22:02

I have an Ivy, as soon as I found out I was having a girl it was the name I wanted Smile

Also I taught an Ivana which is intriguing and mostly unheard of.

MilkNoSugars · 08/04/2020 22:22

Ivy sounds nicest with your surname.

Louise is too 1970/80s for me- it is the middle name of loads of my 40-something friends!
