Holiday for a girl, is it usable? I’ve really got my heart set on it but my family isn’t keen 😭

I don't mind it. And it works for Holliday Grainger.

Twelve8Ts · 12/03/2020 13:00

I liked it ever since I saw Holliday Grainger in that series last year. Think it’s pretty!

emmathedilemma · 12/03/2020 13:45

Sorry but I think it’s ridiculous!

TheReluctantCountess · 12/03/2020 13:51

No, I think it’s awful.

user1493494961 · 12/03/2020 13:55

Dreadful.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 12/03/2020 14:06

Your title gives you your answer. Holiday is a word, not a name.
How about something normal, like Rachael?

DoctorBambino · 12/03/2020 14:20

I think it could work, might get a few raised eyebrows but so many names do. If you love it, go for it!

BreakfastAtTiffany · 12/03/2020 16:10

Divided opinion then! I just think it sounds so bright and happy, and she could always shorten it to Holly if she wanted something more well known. I love the Audrey Hepburn character in Breakfast At Tiffany’s, her full name is Holiday with Holly for short.

I like it and it had crossed my mind as a possible! Probably will get shortened to Hollie so it depends if that's bothers you. It's unusual but not crazy.

Goingunderground2 · 12/03/2020 17:32

Ridiculous

FlappingTurtle · 12/03/2020 17:34

Like Holiday Golightly. Why not?

IVflytrap · 12/03/2020 18:41

I think if you go for it, spell it Holliday. It makes it more of a name, somehow.

BreakfastAtTiffany · 12/03/2020 18:43

I think we are going to go for it! I do prefer the Holiday spelling, Holliday just looks misspelled to me and I like the association with the word. I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes it though!

I like it, rather to my surprise.

DramaAlpaca · 12/03/2020 19:13

I'm surprised to say that I like it, as long as it's spelled Holliday.

jollygoose · 12/03/2020 19:16

just bonkers poor poor child

supercee · 12/03/2020 19:18

I know of a male Holliday, and he's late 30's now. I like it but will the two L spelling.

ForgotwhatIcameinherefor · 12/03/2020 19:19

I agree with others, yes it sounds like a lovely happy name Grinbut please spell it Holliday...
(I wonder would teachers etc think it can't actually be pronounced Holiday, maybe it's said Holy Day)

Goodebe · 12/03/2020 19:26

Absolutely adore it, was on my list... I chose a name my family weren’t keen on, it’s just his name now so be brave and do it!

TerribleCustomerCervix · 12/03/2020 19:29

I actually really like it!

Much better Holliday though- Holiday looks “wrong” as a name whereas Holliday doesn’t.

DameSylvieKrin · 12/03/2020 19:34

I like it and immediately thought of the literary associations.

FrankieManca · 12/03/2020 19:39

Dreadful.

The character in Breakfast at Tiffany’s is fictional.

She does not have to live through a lifetime of ‘witticisms’.

Holliday Grainger also uses ‘Holly’. Why would that be?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/03/2020 19:40

I really like it.

MikeUniformMike · 13/03/2020 10:49

Holliday is better.
Middle name:
Monday
Golightly
Wardrobe
Booking...

CodenameVillanelle · 13/03/2020 12:57

Holliday Golightly was called Holly. That should tell you something.
I'd go for Holly Audrey Surname if you really want to tribute the film.
