My waters broke late last night, no contractions yet, being induced at 3pm if I don't start so baby will be here either today or tomorrow.

We are stuck between 3 first names and 4 middle names.

Rosemary, Rosalind and Josephine are the first names.

First middle name will be Maple or Willow. [trees]

Second middle name will be Mere (only with Willow not Maple) or Lake [bodies of water]

Rosemary Willow Lake
Rosemary Willow Mere
Rosalind Maple Lake
Rosalind Willow Lake
Rosalind Willow Mere
Josephine Willow Lake
Josephine Willow Mere
Josephine Maple Lake

Another thumbs up for Rosalind Willow Mere, and wishing you well for her birth, OP.

Rosalind Willow Lake

Ploppymoodypants · 05/02/2020 17:55

Oooh Josephine Willow Mere

What a super name. Congratulations

diddlediddle · 05/02/2020 18:15

Josephine Willow Mere - lovely

Maduixa · 05/02/2020 19:27

IMO, Josephine - which I do not wholly love - is far better than Rosemary or Rosalind.

I'm not oppoed to two middle names - my mother has two, as do all of her siblings, but she chose to give her own children only one middle name each.

If you love all 3 of your top names, why not use, for example, Josephine Rosemary Lake Lastname?

ColumbaPalumbus · 05/02/2020 20:11

Rosemary Willow (Raine, Mere) or choose the name of a nice river/lake? I think you're trying to hard to keep the pattern and have had one too many kids. Lake is pushing it.

YicketyYackMamasBack · 05/02/2020 20:18

I’ve just had a Mabel Rosemary- so I like Rosemary and Maple... but I don’t think the names
roll of the tongue nicely, their almost hard to say or the middle names should be the first names and first names the middle names.

But it’s your baby. Lots of people had lots of opinions on my baby name list. I didn’t take any off on the opinion of someone else. I just like their opinion.

Thankfully everyone seemed to like Mabel.

Go with what you want

You won’t be telling DD in 15 years that you chose her name because “you were going to be Josephine Willow.. but the strangers on mumsnet didn’t like it”

TrippingOnSunshine · 05/02/2020 20:32

Josephine Wiĺlow Lake is beautiful as are all your other daughter's names.
All my 4 children have 2 middle names!

Ellmau · 05/02/2020 20:39

Rosalind Willow Mere

ElfishBiatch · 05/02/2020 20:44

I like all of the first names. Willow Mere is my preference for the middle names. I think if you are going to use the nickname Rosie then that comes more naturally from Rosemary than Rosalind, but I like both. Rosemary and Josephine and a bit more cutesy, while Rosalind is a bit stronger. If I really had to pick one then I think I like Josephine slightly more, but they are all great.

nocoolnamesleft · 05/02/2020 20:47

Rosemary Willow Rill
Rosemary Willow Beck

Poetryinaction · 05/02/2020 22:39

Not Rosemary -too many nature names. Maple Lake sounds like a brand of syrup.
Willow Lake doesn't 'flow'(!)
which leaves
Rosalind Willow Mere
Josephine Willow Mere
I prefer Rosalind personally.

MrsEricBana · 05/02/2020 22:49

Rosalind Willow Mere for me too.
Hooe all goes well.

WowserBowser · 05/02/2020 22:53

Josephine Willow Lake

Astronica · 05/02/2020 23:12

Josephine Willow Lake

Strokethefurrywall · 05/02/2020 23:40

You're not really serious with the 2 middle names, are you? Incredibly tacky, especially with the names you are intending to use together.

I would be really, really intrigued to know what it is about having two middle names that makes it "tacky". Care to explain??

I'd actually like to find more things to judge people on, seems I'm missing a trick on this one.

scatteredglitter · 06/02/2020 00:12

Rosalind willow brook ?

Omashu · 06/02/2020 09:45

I think your naming style with the trees and bodies of water is beautiful!!! Not tacky at all. Whatever that means anyway 🙄

I don’t personally like any of your first names though so I can’t decide. Just wanted to say I like how you name your children 🙂

Ninkanink · 06/02/2020 09:47

Rosalind Willow Mere, or Josephine Willow Mere.

Babyg1995 · 06/02/2020 09:50

Ignore the negative comments the names are lovely some people on here are just waiting to spout negativity 🤦🤦🤦🤦

SoupDragon · 06/02/2020 09:51

Two middle names is absolutely fine. I like Willow Mere and really don't like Maple and Lake which just sound like words rather than names.

I prefer Rosalind and Rosemary for first names. I think Rosalind slightly more as I prefer the shortening "Rosa" to "Rose".

Sharonthetotallyinsane · 06/02/2020 09:54

All my children have two middle names and yes mostly it doesn’t matter as you don’t say them but it’s an opportunity to be creative.
I love Josephine with Willow Mere

Confusednewmum1 · 06/02/2020 09:54

Rosalind Willow
Josephine willow

The middle names are quite harsh/masculine what about

D’eau
Rivière
Both french like Josephine

Or
Delta, coral, Ria

Ninkanink · 06/02/2020 09:59

Willow isn’t masculine, it’s quite commonly used as a woman’s name in some places.

Cookit · 06/02/2020 10:00

Good luck!!

Rosalind or Josephine rather than Rosemary, definitely.
