Florence Green was the last living veteran of the first world war. So yes, excellent name.

Don't shorten her name to Florrie or Flossie though, will make her sound like a Victorian maid servant.

I feel like a colour on colour surname (Ruby) might not be the best idea but Florence is lovely. A flossie is also a nn for a g-string 😳
