Hi girls!
Struggling so much with girl names, there's barely any I like! After what seemed like forever we both love the name Arla, but after research found out it's a dairy company!😩
So me and OH agreed if this was the name we chose we would spell it Arlagh (no question about it)
So I just want to know if you was introduced to a little girl named Arlagh would you instantly think dairy farm???

I wouldn't them think of dairy

rainbow1982 · 01/02/2020 11:41

I like Arla and I haven't heard of the dairy company! 👍

keepingbees · 01/02/2020 12:15

I wouldn't think of the brand, it's not really well known I don't think.
You could associate many names with things like Flora - margarine, Alba - budget electronics brand, Alexa - Amazon.
The name would become the child not a product IMO

What about Ayla?

Lironlavie1 · 01/02/2020 13:43

Arla is lovey and we know a girl called that in my son’s class. She’s is 5. I would think about the dairy company- but only for a moment.
The child will grow to be whatever name you named her/ him.
I’d definitely spell it Arla and not Arlagh!!

sel2223 · 01/02/2020 14:42

Never heard of the dairy company.....I think Arla is a lovely name.

Arlagh isn't very nice at all I'm afraid, I think it's the g making it very harsh looking.

What about Arlah? (I still prefer just Arla)

20viona · 01/02/2020 14:48

Arla is a lovely name! How about Arna that's nice too.

user1493494961 · 01/02/2020 14:55

I've never heard of the dairy company but it's a bit of a nothing name to give someone. Arlagh is very ugly looking.

balletpanda · 01/02/2020 14:59

Yes I think of the dairy company. Don't do it

devilsadv0caat · 01/02/2020 15:00

It looks like the text version of a scream.

I'm not sure how Arla goes with your surname but Orla doesn't.

Arla does makes me think of milk. Orla is an actual nice name.

DramaAlpaca · 01/02/2020 15:03

I've never heard of the dairy company and I quite like Arla. I wouldn't spell it Arlagh.

Bittersweet12 · 01/02/2020 16:03

Because orla sounds like all of, in a Yorkshire accent, so it doesn't fit with my surname, arla in a Yorkshire ascent doesn't sound like all a that's why arla goes better

I like Arla, wouldn't associate it with any company.

The Arlagh spelling look sliek someone writing Aaaargh, so that's a no from me

AlpacaGoodnight · 01/02/2020 21:23

I like Arla but only with that spelling! I would think about the dairy company maybe but only for a millisecond!
