'Nice' sounding is very subjective! What names do you find nice?

Reginabambina · 28/01/2020 12:31

My favourite boys name is Iscander and my favourite girls name is Miriam.

Reginabambina · 28/01/2020 12:32

They both have the befit of being easily anglicised/europeanised if you feel that is necessary. Ibrahim is another nice one.

MummyJasmin · 28/01/2020 14:04

@Lavenderblues I understand 'nice' is subjective :) Its nice to see what other people consider to be nice ;)

Easily to pronouce, classic without being too old fashioned.

I like names such as Yusuf, Ibrahim...for boys.

Alizeh, Noor, Miriam...for girls.

Just need more ideas!

I like Zain and Zainab; also Ishmael and Maryam.

My husband is from a Muslim family and I’m not - we have an Ishmael (we liked that spelling) but Ismail is also lovely.
Sulaiman was a v strong contender for DS2 and I still love it.

I love the names Mariam for a girl and Yousef for a boy

MikeUniformMike · 28/01/2020 16:45

Look at the name in Arabic.
Some of the letters are very difficult to say and won't necessarily transcribe easily.
Try out any name on non-Muslims or on here if you are not sure.

For example Adel - nice but people will say Adele
Khalid - will get Kaleed, Halid etc
