Love Clementine Edith Penelope Elouise

Your joint name choices for boys are really strong. James and Alex gorgeous strong boy names

Poorolddaddypig · 25/01/2020 10:57

Edie and Clementine are fabulous for the girls. None of your boys names quite match them - they seem a bit ‘meh’ in comparison.

sashh · 25/01/2020 11:08

I'd have to go with

Thomasina, Richard and Harriet, just so I could call ,'Tom, Dick, Harry, come here'

IckleBear · 25/01/2020 12:14

Clementine, Penelope and how about Darien instead of Damien?

Astronica · 25/01/2020 12:56

You could use Pippi as a nickname for either Penelope or Persephone (or Philippa or Pippa). Dodie works as a nickname for Ariadne. Please only spell Eloise this way (Elouise just looks like a strange mishmash of Louise and Eloise).

My favourite triplet sets from you lists are Clementine and either Penelope or Persephone, and either James or Thomas.

I really like Edie (and love it as nn for Edith). For a set: Edie, Pippa and Alex (or Alec which I like more).
Jennifer or Eloise, Madeline and either James or Thomas also works.

TatianaLarina · 25/01/2020 13:11

Pippi doesn’t work in some European languages - it would be pronounced peepee. Pipi is pee in French, Italian and German (probably Spanish too).

MikeUniformMike · 25/01/2020 13:21

We Agree on:
Clementine - fruit
Penelope - ok but will be Pen/Penny
Persephone - Percy. No
Ariadne - 'Arry. No
Pippi - Longstocking
Dodie - Al Fayed
Edie - no
James - love
Thomas - love
Alex - OK for boy or girl if full name on bc.

DP Likes:
Elise - Fur
Jennifer - ok
Elouise - horrible. Both Louise and Eloise are lovely.
Damien - The Omen
Clarke - is your surname Kent?

I Like:
Madeline - Prefer Madeleine. Not keen on Maddy
Elle - too nicknamey
Josephine - like
Michael - love

I would go for Josephine, Penelope and Michael. NNs could be Joss, Jo or Josie, Penny and Mike(y)

Triplets? Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!
You can have the names too. You're welcome.

Alternatively: Curly, Moe, and Shemp

Chocmallows · 25/01/2020 13:29

Not Dodie or Damian.
Rest lovely names.

Helena112 · 25/01/2020 15:11

Ah when are you due 💖 I've also recently found out we're expecting Triplets. How many weeks are you xxx

Name threads often end up divisive and spoilt between people who love a certain type of name and Thais who don't. I don't like the Tabitha-type names personally (I chose that as an example as you haven't added it!)

I will point out though that the boys' names you both agree on are solid, strong names and the girls ones feel airy and posh / v middle class (Tabitha type).

So think about what you are setting up there re sex differences. There has been a tendency over the past 10 years or so for girls to be given rabbit names (poppy pippi, etc) and boys to be given dog names (rex, max, jack). Idk why this has happened but bunnies / flowers vs tough pups bothers me.

It's bloody hard naming multiples, as if one isn't hard enough! I had twins soon after my first. They're all boys, and although the names don't sound similar I do think they all 'go'. The girls name I liked, never to be used, was in a similar vein.

Ultimately go with what names you think your kids should have and what you'd be happy to shout in a playground.

And congratulations!!! ThanksThanksThanksxx xx

Discombobulated47 · 25/01/2020 15:36

Rod, Jane and Freddy (May be showing my age 😉)

ikeakia · 25/01/2020 16:11

Rita, Sue and Bob too? Grin

Congratulations!

I won’t offer serious suggestions as I’m sure you’ll get plenty and you already have a list.

MikeUniformMike · 25/01/2020 16:28

Milly, Molly and Mandy (there was that actor in ER...)

honey7 · 25/01/2020 16:30

Elle, Clementine and Alex

tinnitusagain · 25/01/2020 16:43

Thomas, Josephine and Damien, Nn Tommy, Joey and DeeDee.

mamaduckbone · 25/01/2020 18:30

I wouldn't go for names that are too long - my brother has twins both with 3-syllable names and it's a mouthful!
I love Edie - it would have been ds2's name.

mamaduckbone · 25/01/2020 18:32

Edie, James and Clementine would be my choice of 3.
Congratulations!Thanks

strawberry2017 · 25/01/2020 18:36

Is Dodie for the girls or the boy?
What does it mean?

Ellmau · 25/01/2020 18:38

Ariadne, Persephone and Alexander would be a lovely combination.

Nonnymum · 25/01/2020 18:44

Dodie for the girls or the boy?
It's a girls name. I think usually it's a nick name for Dorothy though . The author of 101 dalmatian and I capture the castle was called Dodie.

Pol16 · 25/01/2020 19:03

From the ones you’ve given:

Persephone Clementine Thomas/James/Michael/Alexander

Also suggest:

Persephone Perdita Theodore
