The one I know goes by the nickname 'Frou' or' Frouby' beautiful name, strong and unusual in our area.

Those saying it's common in your area, what area are you in please? Xx

Staffordshire it's so common. If you like it though who cares.

I know 5, age range 8 to early 20s. Surprised I knew so many when I counted them up as it always strikes me as a more unusual, though perfectly pleasant name.

Love it. This would have been my girls name if/when it happens, but it's got too popular for me now.

Ohyesiam · 08/01/2020 11:23

Very pretty name.
Not many round here, Somerset.

nowaypose · 08/01/2020 13:28

It’s very common here in Yorkshire, I know a fair few.

I’m not keen on it personally.

@mooncake2020 East coast.

@mooncake2020

Have you seen this graph which is based on office national statistics official data. The name Freya has been declining in numbers consistently since 2010 .... so a few years ago it was MUCH more popular than it is now.
Don’t know if this helps or not but might help you when others are saying they know a few locally. Statistically it’s much less common now than a few years ago so many of these Freya’s will be older.
I think it’s a lovely name by the way x

Obviously it’s still a relatively popular name but just wanted to make you aware that it’s not going through a sudden boom (the way Noah and Ezra did), it’s numbers are now declining every year for the past 10

@PlantPotting thank you very much! That's good to know xx
