Thoughts please on this girl’s name?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Not my cup of tea, sounds too like the Zika virus!!

sleepismysuperpower1 · 25/11/2019 17:10

I haven't heard of it before but i think it is gorgeous. would it be pronounced Zee-va or Zi-va?

UpperLowercaseSymbolNumber · 25/11/2019 17:11

Too much like Zika virus for me sorry

fluffygal · 25/11/2019 17:12

I do like a girl's name beginning with Z, my youngests name begins with Z!

StealthPolarBear · 25/11/2019 17:13

Yes too simiaor to zika sorry

KindnessCrusader · 25/11/2019 17:13

Nice sound but my first thought was 'is that the deadly virus?' (no, as it turns out!)

MisterT373 · 25/11/2019 17:16

One of the female characters in NCIS - it is Hebrew for "radiance"

Dyra · 25/11/2019 17:16

I'm afraid my first thought was Zika upon reading it too.

Saying it aloud though (Zee-va), it does sound quite nice.

TiceCream · 25/11/2019 17:17

It makes me think of the daffodil with the same name. To be fair it’s a very nice daffodil.

CherryValance · 25/11/2019 17:23

Pretty Hebrew name. I like it.

MrsNoMopp · 25/11/2019 17:25

Unfortunately the virus was my first thought too.

percheron67 · 25/11/2019 17:31

Sounds like an oral contraceptive.

Omashu · 25/11/2019 18:42

Ziva the Diva

Practicalmagico · 25/11/2019 18:44

Interesting and unusual! Better than another Ava or Emily

DLaderBeal · 25/11/2019 18:49

It’s “Zee-va”, Hebrew. I love short, strong but pretty names and this is one that’s been on my mind; I used to know a lovely Ziva.

Also like names like Noor, Vashti, Zosia, Tamar, Anouk...

CravingCheese · 25/11/2019 19:11

Doesn't it also mean gonorrhea in Hebrew?
but I might be wrong... I just remember watching NCIS with an Israeli roommate.

Marcipex · 25/11/2019 19:20

I know a lovely Ziva of about seven. Nice change from the Lila Lola Layla Lyra of her year group.

Ginger1982 · 25/11/2019 20:14

Do you watch NCIS by any chance?

Crocky · 25/11/2019 20:29

Ziva David. Only time I have heard the name. I like it.

aibutohavethisusername · 25/11/2019 21:18

I love Noor and Anouk.

TatianaLarina · 25/11/2019 22:06

I like it. Probably prefer Zena but it’s more common.

Also like Viva (pronounced Veeva).

Disfordarkchocolate · 25/11/2019 22:07

Makes me think you are an NCIS fan but I do like it.

RolytheRhino · 25/11/2019 22:09

Lovely. We had a cat called that, named after the one on NCIS.

OverByYer · 25/11/2019 22:09

I’ve never heard of it before, but I actually like it. Even moved that it’s a traditional name.

OverByYer · 25/11/2019 22:10

*more so
