Thoughts for a girl?

Lumi? (Loo-me)?

It's the Finnish word for snow and I think it's beautiful!

Also makes me think of my Lumie SAD lamp...

peachypetite · 08/11/2019 12:39

It means hooker in Spanish

MrsNoMopp · 08/11/2019 12:55

Sounds like an adjective for ghost behaviour.

Changedname81 · 08/11/2019 15:46

Lumen with nn lumi could be a possibility?

MikeUniformMike · 08/11/2019 16:14

Lumen is a dating app

Leopardprintboots · 08/11/2019 16:16

Too toilet based for me

RexDangerVest · 08/11/2019 16:20

I think saying lunatic as an association is a bit much! I think it's ok and you know once you name your child something it just becomes them and you will never think about alarm clocks!

RexDangerVest · 08/11/2019 16:21

...I mean you might think about alarm clocks now and again but not every time you look at your child!

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/11/2019 16:25

It’s a Romanian name as well, short for Luminita. It was going to be DD1’s middle name.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/11/2019 16:26

I like it. It’s refreshing and different.
The similar name Luna could have been risky name but it’s really taken off hasn’t it.

user1374384 · 08/11/2019 16:26

It's really lovely.

Omashu · 08/11/2019 18:12

I think it’s really beautiful 😁

Frith2013 · 08/11/2019 18:21

A sunrise alarm clock

Frith2013 · 08/11/2019 18:22

Not lumen - that’s a measurement of light! It would be similar to calling your child watt or amp.

MarshaBradyo · 08/11/2019 18:23

It’s very sweet. It’s a shame it’s a crowded space in terms of the products using it but other than that I like it

airedailleurs · 08/11/2019 18:28

Also the abbreviation for the Italian name 'Luminosa' = bright; lovely name!

AdaColeman · 08/11/2019 19:27

Lumi isn't as pretty as Kiša which is Croatian for rain.

RexDangerVest · 08/11/2019 20:44

How do you pronounce kiša @AdaColeman

user1493494961 · 08/11/2019 20:47

It's a no from me.

georgialondon · 08/11/2019 20:54

Reminds me of Stormi. Not in a good way.

AdaColeman · 08/11/2019 21:24

@RexDangerVest
Keschaa

DrWAnker · 08/11/2019 21:26

No one has said Lumiere yet?? Shock

I think it sounds beautiful but I couldn't because of that candlestick. Sorry.

Cyberworrier · 08/11/2019 21:31

It’s a lovely sound but just evokes Phillips Lumea hair removal machine to me. Lucille or Lucia or Lou or Mimi etc alternatives...?

Chaotica · 08/11/2019 21:35

I like it. I know two people called Lumi. Both in the UK. One with the Finnish origin (yes - it's a name) and the other short for the Romanian 'Luminitsa' which means (I think) 'little light'. Neither get bullied or hassled about their name and it suites them. If you like it, go ahead.

mulky · 08/11/2019 21:38

I think it's gorgeous. Is there any alternative spelling? Just so she doesn't get called 'Lummy'
