Zelda or Holly?

I’m having trouble deciding between Zelda or Holly. Will be a Christmas baby. Her middle name is likely to be Cariad.

Would appreciate your honest thoughts! Thanks

It's a glamourous name, much better than Holly.

Thanks everyone, you’ve given me lots to think about. I’ve gone from leaning more towards Holly to more towards Zelda.

Wouldn’t mind Cariad as a first name either except that I’m a bit worried about people mispronouncing it.

My daughters middle name is Zelda. We get so many compliments on it, I kind of wish we’d saved it and used it as a first name for a second child. Tho she fits her name perfectly and she has listened to Zelda’s lullaby to get to sleep since she was teeny. She’s 4 now and asks for it all the time. She’s our princess Zelda and I don’t care if that’s geeky.

As someone said, I think it’s stylish, cool and cultured. Holly is very pretty but very different.

I'm not mad on Zelda, it's sort of trendy granny or something, a bit 1920s flapper style as Tillygetsit said.

Holly isn't very exciting but it's nice enough.

I'd choose Zelda! Cool, beautiful and memorable.

Holly is quite popular , a little dull and a bit cheesy if born at Christmas.

Have had another chat with dh about it and feel more confused than ever. He is more of a gamer than me and worried that kids will mock her with ‘Princess Zelda’ jokes.

I like the nature associations of Holly, didn’t realise so many people would find it boring.

Also thinking about Cariad as a first name, but then she would probably end up getting called Carrie all the time. Used to think there were loads of girls names I liked but now can’t find one that seems perfect!
