English husband seemingly hates all Irish boys names.

I love a few but struggling to get him on side.

Oisín
Aidan
Ronan
Enda
Eoghan
Sean

Can you lovely mumsnetters help a girl out with some other suggestions please.

Oisín - nice

Aidan - love

Ronan - hate. Too similar to the very very popular Roman which shots up the charts year on year and will be top 20 soon. Everyone will assume they hear RoMan I’m afraid. It would drive me mad

Enda - not heard of this

Eoghan - dislike

Sean - nice

BFPhopeful2019 · 03/11/2019 13:02

Thanks @MissHenty. Don’t think I’ll get him on side with any of them 🙈 men! 😂

What names does he like @BFPhopeful2019

Do you know it’s definitely a boy yet?x

Conor was on our list.

Séamus

Names like Shane, Daniel etc (I think Daniel has Irish origins?).

How phonetic do you want it to be in English? Are you living in Ireland?

If you are an English / Irish couple I would go for something that works in both countries. Sorry but not sure Oisin etc does that! Your suggestions of Sean and Aiden are good, or PPs’ suggestions of Conor, Patrick / Paddy, Seamus, Brendan and Liam. How about John, Michael or Francis?
