Boys name.... Robin or Hugo

Auey · 01/11/2019 10:54

Just wanted to get peoples thoughts on which of the two they prefer.... me and partner seem to have got down to a final two names for our baby due this month.

We don’t mind either but I prefer one and he prefers the other.

Which one do you like best?

Also open to suggestions of other names... already had Elijah, George, Henry, Elias, Harry, Louis and are now ruled out for various reasons .

Thanks 😊

Hugo 100%
I dislike Robin unfortunately

LemonBreeland · 01/11/2019 11:07

Hugo, Robin always sounds a bit wet to me.

MissHenty · 01/11/2019 11:12

Wow you have such good taste- both names are gorgeous, I would definitely pick one of them!

Hugo is more common than robin as it’s higher up the charts, does that bother you?

Robin could get shortened to Rob or Robbie- would you mind that?

I think they’re both GORGEOUS names. Slight preference for Robin but love both

If not how about Miles, Rex, Barnaby, Jasper or Rupert

Hugo

hungryhippie · 01/11/2019 11:26

Hugo for me. I agree that Robin is a bit wet.

Ifyoulikepinacolidas · 01/11/2019 11:27

Robin is very wet. Hugo is the better choice

Grumpbum123 · 01/11/2019 11:29

Hugo

DramaAlpaca · 01/11/2019 11:30

Hugo, by a long way.

daisypond · 01/11/2019 11:30

I’m not wild about either. I find Robin wet too. Rupert or Robert are stronger names. So I’d go for Hugo.

BikeRunSki · 01/11/2019 11:31

Love Robin
Dislike Hugo

My friend's absolutely wonderful dog Hugo died of old age two days ago. If your child has an ounce of his stoic kind funny clever nature he will be doing well. A great name for a great character.

Auey · 01/11/2019 11:39

Thanks everyone... Hugo seems to be the clear winner here... will decide 100% when we meet him but I think it’s swaying more towards Hugo for us then Grin

Hugo ! But I’m going to say that as my ds 14 months is Hugo. I’ve not met another irl yet so it’s obviously not popular in my area even if it’s in the top 100.

My Hugo is such a content and happy little boy. It really suits him.

I do like Robin as well. Both lovely names.

Naomimi · 01/11/2019 11:43

Robin. Hugo seems a bit faddy at the moment.

Jj2431 · 01/11/2019 11:52

Robin. Hugo sounds pretentious to me.

FizzyGreenWater · 01/11/2019 12:31

Hugo, Robin is very lacklustre, and he'll end up as Rob or Robbie which totally doesn't have the feel of Robin so I think you might end up regretting it.

FizzyGreenWater · 01/11/2019 12:31

Plus Hugo is LOVELY - strong yet cuddly and just a touch unusual without being hard to say, spell etc.

MarshaBradyo · 01/11/2019 12:33

Hugo because Robin is a bit soft and will just be Rob which I really dislike

OceanPearl · 01/11/2019 14:03

Hugo!!!
We had Hugo if we had a boy but we’re having a girl. It’s such a lovely name x

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 01/11/2019 14:25

Definitely Hugo, don't really like Robin as a boys name

Astronica · 02/11/2019 00:10

Definitely Hugo - I love this. I just can't warm to Robin.

MrsNoMopp · 02/11/2019 00:18
