I realise these are two very different styles of name, and probably also not v popular but I like then both!
What do you think? Oh, for a dd that will probably be born in April, so that might be a bit twee 🙈

I prefer Evangeline but would hate it being shortened whereas you've no worry of that with April

April might well be shortened to Ape at school. Either in a friendly way or a not-so-friendly way.

I love Evangeline and would shorten it to Evie but pronounce it eh-vie instead of ee-vie

I think if Evangeline is going to be shortened by your dh it will by others too.

Some names I think are similar:-

Penelope
Madeleine
Meredith

Marjolaine?

Persephone is a great option - I love it! Sephy and Posy make great shortenings. It's a pity about April, Clementine and Clemency.

Verity
Clover
Pippa
Philippa
Jemimah
Phoebe
Calliope
Beatrix
Cressida
Claudia/Claudie
Endelion
Eugenie

I really like April regardless of the time of year. Evangeline is a bit clunky and evangelical. I quite like the Ange sound though, e.g. Angelica or Angela.

Love Evangeline. Not keen on April plus the nn might end up being ‘ape’
