Ok so really easy what do you think?
Obviously like Stanley...but spelt Stanlee like the guy who wrote all the marvel comics.

Why would you? Poor child.

Robin and Marco are great.

AloneLonelyLoner · 20/10/2019 09:12

I had to open this thread, compelled to tell you how awful it is.

Don't do it.

Stanley or Stanlee.

Old man with dirty underwear connotations for me.

He will definitely have to change it when he's older.

IggyAce · 20/10/2019 09:15

FFS just spell it correctly, trying to be unique with the spelling makes you look thick in my opinion.

Hesafriendfromwork · 20/10/2019 09:19

You want a marvel link or your husband does, there loads of ways to do it.

Tony, Steve, Peter, Clint.

Or even just Stanley.

Or get dogs. I an a huge marvel fan and have 3 spaniels Phil (coulson), Tony (stark) and Natasha (Romanoff).

You can tip your hat to marvel without giving your son a name with a ridiculous spelling, which will follow him is whole life.

Also, if you husband is a marvel fan how did he not know that Stan Lee, was a stage name and a first and last name. Not his first name with a quirky spelling?

WishUponAStar88 · 20/10/2019 09:26

Well done on accepting the consensus op! Robin is lovely and the right mix of unusual/ uncommon but not weird and out there.

burritofan · 20/10/2019 09:48

What about Stan Stanley Stan Stan Lee Stan Stan Staroo

IckleBear · 20/10/2019 15:41

Robin!

Leopardprintboots · 20/10/2019 15:47

@OB30 OP your comments are cracking me up. You both seem like you have a good sense of humour and have taken comments on board

I like Stanley or Robin

NOT stanlee 🤣

iklboo · 20/10/2019 15:50

Call him Excelsior!!! (with the exclamation marks) Grin

reginafelangee · 20/10/2019 15:51

Not keen but if you must then just spell it properly.

PandasMum · 20/10/2019 15:58

I’m not a fan of Stanley but at least it’s a name - Stanlee just makes you look illiterate & will result in the child being subject to judgement for the rest of their life. Mess up your own name via deed-poll if you want to have a name as a fashion statement.
Robin is lovely.

StuntEgg · 20/10/2019 16:45

Old man with dirty underwear connotations for me.

He will definitely have to change it when he's older.

His name or his underwear?

HollowTalk · 20/10/2019 16:49

How to tell the world that your son's parents are thick, in one easy lesson.

spice3 · 20/10/2019 16:49

I grew up with a Stanlee so never thought anything of it so it's normal to me - he's 20 now!

lalafafa · 20/10/2019 16:59

id imagine you had Asian ancestors

hungryhippie · 20/10/2019 16:59

Did your husband think Stan Lee's name was Stanlee?

TheSandman · 20/10/2019 17:04

Oh definitely NO - and I'm a big comic fan / reader.

Thismummyruns · 20/10/2019 17:07

I'd feel hugely sorry for the baby and for the embarrassment he will endure as a child through to adulthood

Bellasblankexpression · 20/10/2019 17:09

Why mess with the spelling? It’s awful!
Stanley is fine!

RedSheep73 · 20/10/2019 17:11

If you are the kind of person who likes made up spellings, you won't listen to what the rest of us think anyway.

AdaColeman · 20/10/2019 17:14

Stanlee will spend his entire life correcting the spelling of his name.

I think Robin is a very nice name, though not if your surname is Hood.

mrssoap · 20/10/2019 18:12

No...

nottodaysatanlucifer · 20/10/2019 18:13

I'm surprised this name is so popular all of a sudden

DramaAlpaca · 20/10/2019 18:15

Stanlee sounds like a female version of Stanley.

Oh, and it's awful.

Icantbelieveitsnotnutter · 20/10/2019 18:16

This is like when new parents pick the nane "Jaxon" instead of Jackson Confused I quite like Stan, though!
