Wilf or Ivo?

First baby boy - stuck between Wilf (long form Wilfred) or Ivo...

Which do you prefer?

I can’t get past thinking Milf when I see Wilf. So I’d go Ivo, If I absolutely had to choose.

I’m not a fan of either name though

Both great names, and seem very cool to me. My favourite is Wilf.

Wilfred is about as grown up as a name can get. It's a grandad name!

Ivo is a perfectly good adult name too, and would be my preference. I also like Ivor.

I don't much like either, but if I had to choose it'd be Ivo.

Ivo. I really like the Belgian director Ivo Van Hove’s work. Cool name.

There’s a dashing Ivo in Evelyn Waugh’s men at arms trilogy. Love it.

Wilfrid (legitimate older spelling I promise) is DS's middle name and if DD had been a boy middle name would have been Ivo so I like both. But for a first name Ivo would edge it for me. We liked the cricket connection for Ivo.

Ivo is lovely. Far too many Wilfreds around alt the moment, it's very dull.

Ivo is a very popular Eastern European name, short for Ivaylo.

Wilf makes me think of MILF so between the two Ivo would be my choice.

Wilfred is ok but not wilf on its own.

Ivo is better, I like it. Ivor? Innes? But if not then Ivo is good.

Love them both, but love Ivo most. There are a fair few Wilfs around these days, if that bothers you.

Laughing so much that half the comments are “too old man” and half are “too little boy”...! Both would perfectly fit with his generation and work perfectly well as a kid, a teen and an adult.

Ivo is the best from those two.

Prefer Ludo though 😉
