What the fuck

MikeUniformMike · 06/10/2019 18:27

It would look better with a complete rethink.

123Dancewithme · 06/10/2019 20:35

Is it a real name or did you make it up?

BertrandRussell · 06/10/2019 20:38

Are you combining names? I think you need to say what they are and we’ll solve the problem for you. Of the ones there, Rezie is the only one easy to pronounce.

EllenMaxx · 06/10/2019 20:39

No it's a foreign last name. I'm just trying to find the best alternative spelling for it.

All the above look made up and younique!

Think again.

legalseagull · 06/10/2019 20:41

Surely if it's already a surname you can't just change it? Why do you want to change your last name. This doesn't make sense

Laquila · 06/10/2019 20:42

I think Resai and Rezai look least confusing, IYSWIM.

Rezaye looks the most obvious to pronounce though, I think. The first two could be res-eye or res-ay.

Slappadabass · 06/10/2019 20:43

Rezae looks the best, I'd pronounce it Rez-A. If that's the correct pronunciation I would likely spell it Rezea, or possibly Rezay.
Some of the others I wouldn't know how to pronounce or look silly.

BertrandRussell · 06/10/2019 20:44

So it’s in a different alphabet?

Can you give an idea of how it sounds?

VanillaLatteAndCake · 06/10/2019 20:45

The first one. I'd pronounce it rez-ay.

DoingWhatWorks · 06/10/2019 20:46

Different alphabet?

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 06/10/2019 20:50

I’m assuming this is written in a different alphabet/character system that needs phonetically translating, rather than the OP has gone bonkers and forgotten how to spell her own name.

Hmmm...i like Resei or Rezae - but all the “z” names make me think Hispanic which may not be the connotation you’re looking for.

Mummyoftwo91 · 06/10/2019 20:56

What's the original spelling? Op this is a tad over the top lol

MikeUniformMike · 06/10/2019 21:00

I would spell it phonetically or transcribe the characters.

What is the original language?
How is it meant to sound?

The last three look a bit ridiculous.
The sz in some of them might cause a sh sound.

palahvah · 06/10/2019 21:02

I assume you're transliterating something - what would be the phonetic spelling? That's the best starting point.

Twickerhun · 06/10/2019 21:03

What script/language is this originally?

AtiaoftheJulii · 06/10/2019 21:08

I think it would be helpful if you gave the phonetic version of the sounds you want, and we could then argue about which spelling pointed that way most reliably!

Veterinari · 06/10/2019 21:12

Those names all have different pronunciations.
Does the name end in an ‘ay’ ‘I’ or ‘ee’ sound?

EugeniaGrace · 06/10/2019 21:16

Well I like the look of:
Rezei
Rezai

But don’t know whether it would be pronounced rez-eye or Rez-ay.

NationMcKinley · 06/10/2019 21:18

How is it pronounced?

EllenMaxx · 06/10/2019 21:44

The real way to pronounce it is Rez-Ey, kinda like Rosé but with e.

But I prefer not to use é for it. So I'm looking for another way to spell it.

Besides, I dislike the letter "Z".
Do you think "S" can be used instead?

OP posts:
TheJoxter · 06/10/2019 21:49

If you’re wanting Rez-ey with no Z I’d go for Resai or Resey

Rezei and Rezai look best to me but don’t work if you don’t like the Z

The last five are just awful!

Veterinari · 06/10/2019 22:06

Rezei will phonetically give you the correct pronunciation

Resei would also work
