Hideous. Brings visions of snooty upper class men.

IckleBear · 25/09/2019 09:37

Oh I don't like it one bit.

FizzyGreenWater · 25/09/2019 09:48

Shock no.

MikeUniformMike · 25/09/2019 09:54

Awful. nn Clarrie?

Trenchcoated · 25/09/2019 09:57

Honestly, I think it has hideous Little Lord Fauntleroy-type associations. Or a Dublin hotel owned by some of U2.

Disfordarkchocolate · 25/09/2019 10:02

Lion?
Angel?

Not for me but in your social circles it may be different.

scarfaceace · 25/09/2019 10:08

Clarence the Cross Eyed Lion - pretty sure it was an old film or TV show.

NoSauce · 25/09/2019 10:59

Great for a ginger cat 🐈

user1493494961 · 25/09/2019 12:19

Dreadful, second the ginger cat suggestion.

ChillyB · 25/09/2019 12:21

I love it but it’s name that was used in my extended family. We are not upper class or snooty in any way either.

MissHenty · 25/09/2019 12:31

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I cannot understand why it’s not used more. I know a little boy with this name (not posh) and it really suits him

How come Laurence is acceptable but Clarence doesn’t seem to be?

It’s a classic name and sooooo rare (like 5 boys a year with this name)

Honestly with all the Hunters, Fox and Wolf around now, no one is going to bat an eyelid at Clarence. A classic that would suit any child

SwizzelStick · 25/09/2019 12:49

It's awful.

Derbee · 25/09/2019 17:55

Awful. Sorry

Don't like it at all.

Aquamarine1029 · 25/09/2019 18:13

Absolutely, 100% horrible.

Roozy123 · 25/09/2019 18:15

I like the name Lawrence not so much Clarence.
Depends who you're asking some may not accept Lawrence but love Clarence 🤷🏻‍♀️

To me they're not similar at all.

VoluptuousFingers · 25/09/2019 18:15

I quite like it, makes me think of Clarence Clemons.

areyoubeingserviced · 25/09/2019 18:17

It’s a no from me

GloriaMaximus · 25/09/2019 18:22

Reminds me of the film true romance. Love it.

Shockers · 25/09/2019 18:29

I like it, but I’m thinking of what his teenage friends will shorten it to. Claz, Clazzer, Clarrie... unless you have a surname that he would go by in, say a sports match.

‘On me ‘ed Clazzer!’ or ‘Man on Smithy!’ (insert own surname here)

Morado · 25/09/2019 18:44

Sister Mary Clarence ❤️

Don't like it for a boy though Envy

Sexnotgender · 25/09/2019 18:45

I quite like it, makes me think of Clarence Clemons.

Me too. I saw the E Street band live before he died and they were phenomenal. Great name.

FawnDrench · 25/09/2019 18:46

Really showing my age here - but the first thing I thought of was Clarence, the cross-eyed lion from Daktari - a tv series from when I was a wee lassie many moons ago.

wichitalinemanswoman · 25/09/2019 18:58

I like it but only when shortened to Cal
