We've found out we're expecting a third girl (!!) and we are really struggling for a name this time.

I like Constance but DH has vetoed. He wants Mary or Madeleine but I hate both.

Help us please!

Anne or Alice

SleepyHiraeth I don’t know why they are pronounced like that. It’s just the traditional English way. I suppose it’s a bit like we don’t pronounce the French name Catherine as Catereen. We developed our own pronunciation for it to be So-fye-a. But times have changed again and the majority pronounce it the continental way, as Sofeeya.

Miriam or Marianne.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 11/09/2019 11:18

Victoria or Alexandra

I wouldn't worry about it being shortened to Vicky. I had the same concerns about my son's name (I don't like the nn) and it's never been shortened.
In that case, you wouldn't have chosen Catherine (potential to be Kate, Cathy) or Elizabeth (Liz) Smile

Victoria

This thread is miles long so I apologise if I have nothing original to add as I only skimmed the comments:
Coraline instead of Constance?
Other suggestions that I think would work really well with your two:
Georgiana
Meredith
Rosalind
Bernadette
Frances
Juliet

Laura, Anna or Sarah

Hobbesmanc · 11/09/2019 16:17

Margaret or Cecily or Dorothy. Fab names and the nicknames you could have Betty and Kitty and Peggy and Sissy and Dolly. I love those Tudor names. Or maybe Agnes. Penelope would work too

daisypond · 11/09/2019 17:12

Marjorie? I love this ancient name.

cornishgirl78 · 11/09/2019 18:09

my first instinct was Mary! I also love Madeleine..shame you're not keen!
I don't like Constance.
What about
-Frances
-Eleanor
-Florence
-Margaret/Margarita
-Penelope
-Victoria
-Georgiana
-Helena
-Alexandra/Alexandria
