Goldie was DH GM name, she’s wonderful and we love the name. He would love to use it for DD. We’ve had very positive reactions from family who knew GM.

Thoughts?

Definitely the blue peter dog. Mum of Bonnie.

Don’t do it.

Skyechasemarshalontheway · 28/08/2019 19:35

For me my birth name is *** Goldie and it's the surname of half my family so I couldn't see it as a first name sadly. But if you like it it's up to you.

AverageMummy · 28/08/2019 19:40

Its just a name for a golden retriever surely???

Whattodo20192 · 28/08/2019 19:42

I thought of Peppa pig's goldfish!

Pixilicious · 28/08/2019 19:51

No
Dog
Musician
Looking chain
At no point did I think of goodie hawn

Cookit · 28/08/2019 19:51

I like it. I’m not sure it needs a longer name as it is legitimately a name in its own right I think?

JimmyPanda · 28/08/2019 19:52

I know a baby Goldie. It's lovely, id use it!

lottiegarbanzo · 28/08/2019 19:57

dog, horse, goldfish, singer.

Ok as a nn - and could be a nn for all sorts of things, or one that's nothing to do with her name.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 28/08/2019 19:57

Unless Mr T is babies dad, no just no!

WinterHare · 28/08/2019 19:58

Sounds silly.

superram · 28/08/2019 20:02

It’s a goldfish/dog’s/rapper name. It’s a no from me.

kenandbarbie · 28/08/2019 20:02

Goldie Hawn is the only person it would really suit. Is your baby likely to become a Hollywood actress known for having blonde hair and a sunny personality?

SudowoodoVoodoo · 28/08/2019 20:03

Blue Peter dog, or some rapper.

It's very nicknamey. Fine if there is a longer name to give other options.

Is baby highly likely to be blonde?

feelingsicknow · 28/08/2019 20:08

Goldie the rapper. Or Goldie, like an old grandma. These are the immediate things that spring to mind.

But then, someone has to break the mould don't they? If you like it and are prepared for the questions/looks, then go for it. It's your baby.

user1493494961 · 28/08/2019 21:07

It's a no from me too.

hungryhippie · 28/08/2019 21:09

It's the name of my first goldfish.
It just sounds a bit weird and I don't know why.
I know there is Goldie Hawn but I never hear her name without the surname, so when I say it alone it sounds strange.

sue51 · 28/08/2019 21:10

I thought goldfish too. Not keen on it for a person.

Frith2013 · 28/08/2019 22:59

We used to have a ginger cat called Goldie.

MohairMenace · 28/08/2019 23:33

Sorry to burst your racial stereotyping but Goldie is not a rapper; he’s a visionary music producer, has several honorary doctorates and an MBE.

Lamentations · 28/08/2019 23:54

Goldie's not a rapper he's a Junglist from Wolverhampton. Either way though, you just can't...
