Clover

A lot of children's fiction has either a cow or rabbit called clover in it.

I like the sound of ut, but because of the margarine, i think it would be a bit cruel to use it as a first name. She'd get the 'four leaf' joke a lot.

Fine as a middle name and for you to call her that.

It's fine.. I could easily get used to a little girl being called Clover I'm sure.

Also her friends and others might call her 'Clo', which you might not like.

The animal name connotation wouldn’t bother me. My primary school age daughter has already come across dogs, cows, rabbits and hens that have her name and it doesn’t bother her at all.
When it comes to names it’s our own individual views and prejudices that are the problem - to a child it’s just what they are called.

Lots of flower names are really popular at the moment and Clover has a nice ring to it. Quirky without being unacceptably so.
I certainly wouldn’t let Clover the cow sway me in any way. If you’d asked me the most popular name for a cow is, I and I expect quite a few others would have mentioned Daisy and that didn’t in any way deter an awful lot of people calling their daughters that

I know a Clover with the nickname Coco. I like them both.

Shite horse . I love Clover. I’d be nervous about using it in case she was mocked but I think it’s a beautiful name.

I like it. There was a movie with a girl called Daisy Clover.

I found my childhood diary and at 10 years old (obvs after reading "what Katy Did') I declared that when I started a new school that year I would tell ppl my name was Clover.

For the first time in one of these threads, I actually like it. I can picture it as an adult name too.

I thought of a big brown cow with long eye lashes as soon as I read it.

There's a famous (ish) author called Clover Stroud. I don't think it's odd at all. I also don't think it would be odd on a woman of any age regardless of what occupation they go into.

I once knew a cow called Clover. 😂

I think it's lovely. I'm called Daisy and despite the odd joke about cows I'd definitely not want to change it.
