Uncommon girls name. - Rumer or True

Hi all,

My tiny girls list only consists of:

Rumer
True

I have searched for hours and hours to find some other options to consider and keep coming up blank! Interested to hear preferences between the two and other options!

I prefer uncommon but short and simple names.

Sibling is Arlo!

True is awful.

Rumor is better but I wouldn't want it for my name because of Romours generally being negative.
Romy has a similar sound and is a lovely name IMO.

If you want a name that's also a word what about,

Definitely not Rumer. True reminds me of trews (trousers worn by women when actual trousers were still unacceptable. They usually had stirrups and were unbearable) but I doubt anyone else would remember them.

🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Nooooo!!!! Those names are hideous!! Stop trying to be so ‘out there’ and don’t saddle your lovely little girl with a horrid name just to be different. What’s wrong with something normal like Eleanor or Caitlin. Believe me, she’ll thank you in later life.

Trudy? It’s different but an actual name. True and Story are bizarre.
I like Rumer mainly because I loved Kizzy/The Didakoi.

Trudy or Truly shortened to True.

Not a fan of either but would choose Rumor out of the two.

Please don't saddle a child with a name they'll have to repeat ten times and spell out for people and then be judged for.

Give your child an actual name. Keep the wacky names for pets!

True just makes me think of the Kardashian’s and Rumer is one of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter’s.

I’d go with Rumer out of the two but neither are great.

I like Rumer.

As others have said it's an existing (albeit unusual) name. It makes me think of the singer...

Genuinely thought your thread title was asking about an unpopular girls name. Rumer or true looked like a question. On that o would say no to either. Maybe pick something g that sounds like a name only.

They're uncommon for a reason, it's because they're dreadful.

I read that Bruce Willis’ daughter hated her name as at school she got called Rumer the Tumour, which is pretty grim.

You could always change your own name to Rumer or True.

They sound like the sort of names Katie Price would choose.... I don’t know anything about the Kardashians but that doesn’t surprise me I guess.

I can’t imagine a child will thank you if they ever want a professional job.

Rumer makes me think of the writer Rumer Godden who wrote Black Narcissus. I like it, it’s pretty. Rumy could be nickname.
True is not good. Has anyone suggested Verity, which means Truth? Pretty, a proper name, unusual but not silly.

Tamar is a name I would have loved to use but I never had a daughter.

I second Romy. I know a 23 year old girl with this name and it really suits her.

Rumer sounds like an eye infection and True is just plain ridiculous. as are some of the other names on here

I do know a Venetia and a Stella. Don't like Venetia but love the name Stella.
