Middle name for Margot- Elizabeth, Daphne or Evangeline

We’re sure on Margot as the name but are struggling to choose between these middle names. I think I’m edging towards Evangeline and dh towards Daphne but both like all the names. With Elizabeth we are also debating whether to spell it with an s or z so an opinion on that would also be helpful Grin

I like Elisabeth best (with an s).

DramaAlpaca · 18/07/2019 20:10

Evangeline for me. Not Daphne, although I love it, as I think you need a middle name with a different number of syllables.

If you go for Elizabeth/Elisabeth just choose the spelling you like best as it's just a middle name & it's not as if she'll have to spell it out all the time. I personally prefer Elizabeth with Margot. The Elisabeth spelling is a little too soft with such a strong first name.

I know a Margot Elizabeth! Nice name :)

Peachbubble · 18/07/2019 20:14

I vote for Margot Evangeline

georgialondon · 18/07/2019 20:20

Evangeline. I love that name.

Tonks101 · 18/07/2019 20:23

I like Evangeline best! Then Elisabeth then Elizabeth then Daphne I think!

Shadow1234 · 18/07/2019 21:13

Margot Evangeline is beautiful.

cheesemumma · 19/07/2019 04:24

Oh god. We've just named our daughter evangeline and since then I've seen it come up on mumsnet countless times. I hope it's not about to become really popular!

I vote daphne. I love that name it was one of my favourites, but dh vetoed it.

Margot Evangeline

Marchitectmummy · 19/07/2019 06:34

Personally I would change Margot for Daphne or one of the others. So many parents are naming their daughter Margot after Margot Robbie which has made a name that was quite unusual really common, there are 3 in my daughters nursery class (she's 3) and 2 in the group who are 1-2! Thats out of 14 girls in each..

Spaghettionaspoon · 19/07/2019 17:26

Marchitectmummy I know it’s risen in popularity but I’ve loved the name since I was 15 and have always said I’d call my baby Margot if it was a girl so it would feel wrong not to.

Anyone else look at Margot and see Magot?

luckyorange · 19/07/2019 21:05

I love Evangeline. Personally I don't think Daphne as a middle name especially with Margot but it would be lovely as a first name!!

17caterpillars1mouse · 19/07/2019 22:21

Evangeline definitely

Tsubasa1 · 19/07/2019 22:24

I like Margot Daphne the best, i sounds very unique!

IVflytrap · 19/07/2019 22:53

Margot Daphne makes me think of the Greek wine Mavrodaphne. I do like Daphne though.

Margot Evangeline flows very nicely. I like Evangeline as a middle name (more so than as a first name).

Spaghettionaspoon · 24/07/2019 11:18

Thanks everyone! Bump is now Margot Evangeline

Yet another Margot (the escargot)

I really can’t understand the obsession with this name.

Spaghettionaspoon · 24/07/2019 18:21

frith2013 somehow don’t remember asking for opinions on the first name.
