Middle name for Isla...Skye?

Hi All,

I am due my first baby, a girl, early September. OH and I have chosen Isla as a first name but are struggling for a middle name. He loves Isla Skye but I’m not so sure. I’m Scottish so it sounds to me like Isle of Sky being said in slang! So I’m looking for thoughts on Isla Skye and any other middle name suggestions.

Isla Grace sounds like a religious commune.

Isla May = Isle of May in the Firth of Forth.

Please don't go for the horrendously overused May / Rose / Grace as a middle name.

Push the boat out. Go for something unusual, strong and distinctive.

If you both like Isla and Skye could you combine them and call her Skyla/Skylar? It has the same sounds just switched around. Isla is lovely on its own though and agree about the overuse of mae/rose etc. My DD has the middle name rose and I hate it now because I didn’t quite realise how popular it was!

Don’t call her Skylar, either. Why not Skye Isla? Less obvious.

My Isla has rose as her middle name, as does another Isla that we know. We know a third with Marie as a middle name.

Definitely don't go for Skye. It's totally like the Island.

Play him ‘Donald where’s yer troosers?’ and he’ll swiftly change his mind on Isla Skye...

Isla Joan? Biased as I love the name and have a Milla Joan. Skype is a beautiful name but it does sound like Isle of Skye I'm afraid. Isla Mae and Isla Jo are also lovely

Is it island names he likes? Because you'll have this with any island you go for. If it's Scottish names he likes there are plenty that work well with Isla.

I would go for Isla Jean which I see a couple of PPs have already mentioned. Or reverse the names to Skye Isla?

I know an Isla Hope which I think is pretty.
