Audrey is gorgeous.

Audrina is fussy.

Aubrey is a male name. It's ignorant of the name's origins to use it for a girl, IMO.

Greensleeves · 30/06/2019 01:39

Audrina sounds like something a five year old would name her favourite doll

Audrey is old and drab

Aubrey sounds like it must always be said in a nasal American accent

So I don't like any of them.

Tavannach · 30/06/2019 01:44

Don't really like any of them much tbh, sorry. If you held a gun to my head I'd go with Aubrey (although my first thought is that it used to be a boy's name).

”I don’t understand why so many posters are refusing the fact that it’s unisex? In fact it’s far more popular for girls nowadays with it being ranked 267th for girls and 818th for boys.”

I have literally never heard of it being used as a girls name until this thread. If I’d come across someone with a little girl Aubrey I’d (until this thread) have thought to myself “oh dear, do they not realise that’s a boys name, did they get confused with Audrey?”

Marthaxxx · 30/06/2019 07:36

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

Some better then others.... Aubrey was my least favourite but it's definitely a unisex name.

No Audrina is not "obviously made up" it's a name.

I vote Audra Grin

MrsXyzAbc · 04/07/2019 08:20

Audrey and Audrina are nice, but i really don't like the name Aubrey. Every time I see it, I think it's just Audrey spelt wrong/weirdly.

onalongsabbatical · 04/07/2019 08:23

'Nother one thinking what about Audra? Smile

islandlove · 05/07/2019 09:19

Audrey

Aubrey is a bit strange

BlamesFartsOnTheNeighbour · 05/07/2019 11:20

My Sweet Audrina! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Sweet_Audrina Maybe you have to be of a certain age, but just no no no.

PissOffPeppa · 06/07/2019 01:21

I heard a dad calling to a little Audrey today. I didn’t think I particularly liked the name (always made me think of Gail Platt’s mum!). But when I heard it said out loud, I noticed how lovely it was for this little girl.

dessertequila · 07/07/2019 15:11

Audrey

Astronica · 08/07/2019 08:44

Audrey is lovely

Audrina is not a style that appeals to me. Just feels over the top. I do like Audra though.

Aubrey is one of those previously male now unisex names becoming very popular right now for girls and will date quickly as a result (like in the past Ashley, Kelly, Courtney have done.)

littlemixer · 14/07/2019 16:17

Audrey

carmenbea · 19/07/2019 22:48

Audrina

PurpleFlower1983 · 23/07/2019 22:47

Audrey is lovely, it was the one I wanted but DH overruled. Aubrey is a boys name.

AverageMummy · 25/07/2019 18:13

@Cbeebiesrehab The rankings are distorted by the vast number of girl names people use these days in the current trend of being unique. Aubrey is around 0.03% for both genders so I’d say really quite a long way from being ‘popular for girls’. It’s been used for boys however, forever, so is understandable that if people have never met any of those 0.03% then they’d still know it as a long standing boys name.

AverageMummy · 25/07/2019 18:18

I wanted my husband to consider Aubrey I actually really like it on a girl. But that doesn’t stop it being only very recently used for girls so a lot won’t hear it as a girls name. This table has the number in brackets given to boys & girls each year since 1996.
