Worried our other choice of Theodore is too popular/trendy. What are people's thoughts on Gabriel?

@Awwlookatmybabyspider it's not that common here (Scotland) but yes, I was surprised too. Obviously it never crossed my friend's mind when naming him. Kids can be so horrible sometimes.

It's a beautiful name. A bit too religious for me so I wouldn't use it, but it's a lovely name,

Really? I had to google Supernatural. Look like a C list TV show. I think an ancient name like Gabriel transcends trash tv.

I'm afraid I loathe this name. It sounds a bit wet.

I like it, my ds knows a Gabe at his school, he has no issues.
I love Theodore but it has got a lot more popular in the last ten years.

Both are popular, but I much prefer Theodore.

Gabriel is much more interesting than Theodore as the latter has become a little overused over the past 10 years.

I really like it and considered it fir our shortlist but discounted it as I perceived it to be quite popular/trendy. More so than Theodore.

Love it! My son was almost called Gabriel but when shortened to Gabe it didn't go with our surname at all sadly.

We now have Elijah. Love it!

I haven't checked the statistics but surely Theo/Theodore is much more popular than Gabriel?

Can’t see why anyone would bully someone because they’re called Gabriel. It’s a lovely lovely name - just so classy & cool at the same time which is rare in boys names (to my ears).
