Girl varients of boys names

Hi
Really stuck for girls ideas
I like Jay/Jaya
Callie (Cal)
Edith
Jackie (Jack)
All four of the names I first liked in books where the female character (of that name) was strong and adventurous etc.
I would like the name to have a masculine nickname but also be a girl's name in its own right.
Thoughts on my ideas/ new names please
Thanks

I am currently loving Matilda shortened to Mat(t) or Matty

I really like Edith, but I don't think it naturally shortens to Ed, if that's what you were going for.

Any reason why you don’t want a girl to have a girl’s name? And would you choose a boy’s name because you could come up with a feminine shortening - maybe Jonathan shortened to Joanie?

ChillaxingInMyKimono · 29/05/2019 21:00

I'm reading a book where a character called Erika is shortened to Rik (could also work for Erica / Ric).

WheresTheWineHey · 29/05/2019 21:05

@BertrandRussell
Any reason why you've named yourself after a male philosopher on here?

Unless you're male, of course.
