Working class names

So on my last threads some people said that some of the names sounded middle class and should only be used if that was the case. So what are working class names? What are nice working class names? Is this actually even a thing? Does it really matter?

@crushedvelvetcouch, good point. I'm Irish and even though the middle classes and the wealthy and privileged around me are using Irish names old and newfound, roman classics, ecclesiastical classics, royal classics........ and all of the many trends which I love and enjoy watching......... travellers call their children Margaret, John, Edward, Joseph, Patrick,Sarah, Mary, Ann. I know that they are getting more adventurous now though. NOBODY could accuse travellers of having poor taste in names.

I hope I haven't offended anybody here. NOT my intention. Just my observation that they, like Kate and William! stick to classic classic old familiars.

“Everyone wants to be elite or traditional working class, but hardly anyone is.”

Yes !

The comments about practically everyone being working class are absolute nonsense (for this country).

@passthecherrycoke
Are you in the U.K.? Here - working class is not the majority so your comments are more relevant to middle class choices.

Passthecherrycoke · 01/06/2019 14:14

Yes I am the In the U.K. and yes the working class is the majority.

Passthecherrycoke saying something a lot doesn't make it true, can you prove that?

A lot of middle class people in the UK claim to be working class because it's cooler or more "authentic" in their view. Some middle class people try to behave as part of the elite. Only those who've been the middle of the middle class for generations seem able to admit to being middle class, it's not something anyone pretends to be if they aren't.

In most first world countries the middle class are the biggest group, for all half of them pretend to be working class because their great grandad was a coal miner...

@Passthecherrycoke you are really confusing me because you can’t just make up your own facts about the demographics of the country

I'm working class, I can tell you it isn't that exciting.
