George, Louis or Archie

As the new royal baby is called Archie even though it isn't a regal name, I was wondering out of the queens great grandsons what peoples favourite name out of the three is.

None of them are my thing, but if I had to pick, as an Englishwoman, as would choose George for exactly the reasons others say they wouldn't, because it sounds English and stolid, like a good old-fashioned pudding.

Next would be Archie I guess. I don't like it, but it is better than Louis which is French (nothing wrong with being French, but I am not).

Love Archie then Louis. George is ok-ish..

Always been curious but is 'Louis' pronounced Louie or Lewis??

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 10/05/2019 18:03

Louis.

Then Archie.

Then way way down George.

KarenTheCashRegister · 10/05/2019 18:05
  1. Louis
  2. George
  3. Archie.
BikeRunSki · 10/05/2019 18:06

Always had a fondness for Archie

BikeRunSki · 10/05/2019 18:07

Doh! I meant that i’ve always had a fondness for Louis.

fancynancyclancy · 10/05/2019 18:10

Love Louis (pronounced Louie).
Archie is ok but don’t love
George is boring

escapade1234 · 10/05/2019 23:10

Hate Louis because it sounds so girly.
George is so utterly boring.
Archie is the best of the bunch but I don’t really like any of them.

Harrison is the absolute worst by a country mile.

MollyYouInDangerGirl · 10/05/2019 23:15

I like George the best. I was never keen on Louis but I've heard it that many times that it's become kind of more normal and ok to me if that makes sense. I dont like archie at all.

Phuquocdreams · 10/05/2019 23:21

Louis
Archie

George. Makes me think of Georgie Porgie and puddings.

mummylove31 · 10/05/2019 23:25

George!

DramaAlpaca · 11/05/2019 00:18

I like Louis.
George I'm indifferent to.
Archie is just - awful, so twee.

bluebell34567 · 11/05/2019 00:21

Louis sounds like a girls name.
i would love if Archie was in fact called Alexander or in short Alex.

Sparklysunflower · 11/05/2019 10:55

Alexander/Alex is indeed so much nicer than Archibald/Archie!

Whoops75 · 11/05/2019 10:56

Louis
Archie

Really dislike George

PlumCakeChica · 11/05/2019 11:01

Louis, by a royal country mile.

CloserIAm2Fine · 11/05/2019 11:59

Definitely George, but I really don’t like Louis so Archie would be in the middle for me.

Applesbananaspears · 12/05/2019 09:02

Love Louis, indifferent to George and I like Archie and thank goodness they didn’t go for Archibald which is truly hideous. Harry has never been called Henry and I imagine he took the view that there is no point giving a name which will never be used and let’s be honest, nobody is going to want to go by Archibald

Doilooklikeatourist · 12/05/2019 09:37

I have a son named George , he’s in his 20s now , and it was definitely an old mans name when he was little

(Remembers Dr coming into waiting room saying George surname ? Mr surname ?
Then leaving and coming back in howling with laughter and explaining he was looking for an old man , not a toddler in a pushchair! )

I like Louis and Archie , but I would have chosen Arthur, not Archie

Emmapeeler · 12/05/2019 09:39

George. Not keen on the others. I would personally have picked James any day.

Lavenderblues · 12/05/2019 16:59

I'm not keen on any of them but would pick George if I had to pick one.

PropagandaMachine · 13/05/2019 17:13

I think Louis is a great name! It's the French twist that does it.

George and Archie are pretty dull.

Quartz2208 · 13/05/2019 17:20

@dolphin50 yes there are lots of non royal names where there are no titles Zara, Savannah, Isla etc

I am not a fan of any of the 3 but actually probably like Archie the most

LizzieMacQueen · 13/05/2019 17:32

George (Doddie)
Archie (I also picture pink castle, Balamory)

Louis
