Hi, my last thread was opinions on:

Ivy
Etta
Willa
Bella

but we've put Ivy and Willa aside for time being, Etta is nice but I don't LOVE it. everyone said Bella is very much a dogs name and I agree, dh suggested Isabella and I love it!!
I think its really pretty. we wouldn't call her izzy or bella though, just Isabella maybe sometimes Isa. what do you think? does the popularity dull it? i'm not convinced so i'd just like some opinions please, thank you very much everyone :)

I like Isabella, a lot more than Isabel and variants which seems much more popular. Also like Isa as a nickname, think it was a common shortening in Scotland in the past so yes old lady vibe but in a good way.

Isa is lovely.

But all the Isabella/Isobel’s I know are Izzy or Bella ...so a fight on your hands to make it stick!

Bella is much nicer than Izzy btw

I’ve got an Isabella who is 2 and don’t know any others in her birth year. I live in the east mids and compared to the number of Isla’s, Ava’s and Eliza’s it is not that popular.
She is known by a very different nickname at home and at Nursery all her little friends call her Isabella or “Ishabwella” as they haven’t quite grasped it yet....

There are loads of children named Isabella around here. They all have to go by their surname. I liked it a few years ago. I don't mind common names but there are just so many of them now I just don't really like it anymore.

I have an Isabella. She's 3 and a half. Not very popular in my area. Only know of 1 other and an Isobel.

I call her Izzy or izz.

Teaching her to write it on the other hand is quite the challenge

Very popular round here, 2 in DD's class.

Millie, Eva, Ava etc. also extremely popular.

It's my favourite name, I If I have a DD that's what I will call her
