Names you love but will never get to use

Having recently had my second daughter, and not planning on having any more children, I am very slightly sad about the names I love but will never get to use.

Which names would you like to have used but won't get the chance? Mine are Alice and Ivo.

Evelyn. I have no idea why, it's just one I loved when I was pregnant, and we ended up with a boy!

I love Ivo too but can’t have it with our surname

We’re debating one more so I don’t want to share my faves (silly I know), but I’ll always be slightly sad that family members beat us to Felix and Saskia.

I always loved Blythe but DH hated it. My DDs are adults now. I will never be able to use it. Maybe for a dog.

My girls name was Esther. I have two boys and am done.

My dc3 was going to be Zebedee if she was a boy. She wasn’t!

I also love Saskia.. Considered it for my daughter but went with something else. It ends in a 'ka' sound and I don't think they wouldn't flow well together so I don't think I can use it anymore!

Got loads more I love though and would like another baby someday.

Sumptuous sounding beautiful names that roll around your mouth. But vetoed by my husband for being a bit ‘over the top’. Boo.

Kit. It just doesn't go with my surname. Still, feel a bit sad 14 years later.

Imogen. I love it. One of my DC's name has been mentioned on here and they hated it so much they changed it!!

Daphne, Kitty and Noah. My child birthin' days are over. I wasn't even allowed call the dog Noah

I had two boys, but wanted Imogen or Matilda with the middle name Grace if we'd had a girl. Very normal names, but both special to me. It's unlikely we'll have any more after my last pregnancy which was stressfully high risk.

Like sospan I loved Evelyn and it was our girls name for DS. Planned on using it for 2nd child if Dd but sister in law named her dog Evelyn in the meantime! (She knew I loved it too 😒).

Also loved Heath but DM pulled this face when I said we were considering it so I never dated. Regret that now as DS would suit it.

Also loved Benjamin and it was our favourite for DD if she was a boy but in hindsight I don't think we have gone ahead as with our surname it's very Benjamin Button.

Done with kiddos now and I miss imagining the perfect name

Inara (as in the companion from firefly)... We have one on the way but DH has said hard pass on the name so I won't get to use it. He's also vetoed Talyn, Morena and Sol...

Ichiban I’m curious now! I have a “ka” ending daughter too, wonder if it’s the same name...

Dominic - but surname begins with D.

Olive. I absolutely love it but my DH can’t stand it.
