Having recently had my second daughter, and not planning on having any more children, I am very slightly sad about the names I love but will never get to use.

Which names would you like to have used but won't get the chance? Mine are Alice and Ivo.

I love Olive too Hip don't think I'll ever convince DH. He has a weird obsession with the name Eric

I loved Imogen but my partner hates it. I also love names like Dexter and slightly more unusual names whereas my partner loves very traditional names. Taken so long to name our first son and he still hasnt got a middle name because of our differences in opinions! He says every name i suggest isnt a name or is horrible... but his family have all got very 'royal' names...

Cosima, DP was just Confused and I don't think I'll ever change his mind... although he has seen me in labour and is slightly scarred by it so I might be able to get my way next time...

Eloise

I love Alice and Marnie ( I'm always suggesting them on baby name threads)
I also love but would never dare use Lolita.
I love Sonny but can't ever imagine having used that either.

I have three wonderful ds, but never got to use Mabel! Not dh's cup of tea, but I've always loved it. Really suited my hypothetical daughter!

Joeybee · 05/04/2019 21:06

I'm pregnant with my second, and likely last, Baby. I don't know if it's a boy or girl yet. I already have a son, so if this baby is another boy then I'll miss out on Cecilia, Lux and Violet which are my top girl contenders.
Boy names there are lots I like, so not sure, I have a strong suspicion this baby is a boy, so I'm not going to share those names yet.

Other names I love but can't use:

Rafferty, Raphael, Eric, Luca, Frederick, Wilfred.
Harriet, Roberta, Brianna, Sloane.

Louisa

Growing up I always wanted to name my kids Casper and Sebastian. I have a DS, and DS2 on the way but both names have been completely and utterly veto'd by DH.

Recently I've fallen in love with Frederick, nn Freddie. But DH has a pretty real and intense fear of Freddie Krueger so that's out too.

Girls names would be Charlotte and Lucy. This will be our last.

BurrSir · 09/04/2019 09:07

Georgia, Sienna (Family reasons)
Blake, Blair, Quinn, Flynn (Dh wouldn’t even consider)
Karen (I love it more than any other name but I don’t think it’s due a resurgence)!

ChoccyBiccyTastic · 09/04/2019 10:18

Alicia (Al-ee-see-ah). You can see why I didn't go for it in the end.

Tattletale · 09/04/2019 10:19

Rachel for a girl, Caleb for a boy.

pisspawpatrol · 09/04/2019 11:53

Everly. I love it, but in my accent and with our surname it just sounds silly. Plus I know it would get all sorts of comments from family and friends.
