Baby girl was born on monday but we still haven't decided on a name. I love Elsie but I don't like it with our surname as it also starts with an E. Trying to find a name that doesn't start with a vowel as that will probably go better but I just can't find any that I like

Maisie has quite a similar feel to Elsie. I think names that start with the same letter sound great though - like Jack Jones or Rebecca Rowland.

Would look great monogrammed on a towel too.

Just call her Elsie if you love it. You don’t use full names that often and likelihood is she will get married and change her surname anyway.

I would but I think it's just a bit too similar. I like Marnie, Mabel, Lucy and Cara. I quite like Grace too, maybe as her middle name

Would Elizabeth go any better with your surname and you could call her Elsie as a nickname?

Would Edith work as although it's the same letter it's a different sound but similar feel to Elsie?

Others maybe Heather, Mabel, Joanie or Martha?

Congrats and good luck

So, both of you put 5 names you like into a hat, (pretested to suit your surname), both pull one out and then sort out which one is first and which one is the middle name. Toss a coin if you have to.
Random shit often works just as well as choices you agonise over. Try it and see.

I was going to suggest Marcy. I teach one and she’s a delight to have in the class-always makes a name more appealing! Smile
