Anne's nice.

Riley's awful. Sorry. So many lovely, lovely girls' names out there and you want to use a surname? (Tbf I don't get surname names for boys either).

I don’t think Riley is awful as such but it really doesn’t go with Anne imo.

Strugglingtodomybest · 26/03/2019 07:02

I don't like it.

NinnieNouse · 26/03/2019 07:50

I know two girl Rileys. One preteen and one in her early twenties.

AuntieStella · 26/03/2019 07:52

I don't really like surname names much, and I don't think this one works terribly well on a girl

onalongsabbatical · 26/03/2019 07:57

Riley - next door neighbour's dog - Riley! Get down! Stop it!
Anne - prefer Anna. Anna Soubry - posh and articulate.

bullyingadvice2017 · 26/03/2019 08:07

There's 3 Riley's in my sons class. He's 6. Riley.w Riley.h and Riley.b...
They are all boys. Naughty boys by coincidence.

2 more in the year above that I know off

Divgirl2 · 26/03/2019 08:16

Every second kid (and Staffie) is called Riley on the council estates of Edinburgh. If you love it go for it, personally it's not a name I'd choose.

mrsstephens89 · 26/03/2019 08:26

Love Anne but hate Riley

cheeseypizza · 26/03/2019 08:26

The only Riley's I know are male and Anne is female. Not keen at all, sorry OP.

jackstini · 26/03/2019 08:34

Love Anne as a middle name, it's my dd's

Not keen on Riley, I only know boys with that name

parttimeateverything · 26/03/2019 08:36

I think it's fine as I don't know any boys called Riley. Riley is the naughty quint though.

TitilatedOcelot · 26/03/2019 09:02

Sounds like wry Leanne to me, so no.

SallyWD · 26/03/2019 09:14

I don't like it but if you do then go for it.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/03/2019 11:28

Sounds like Ragedy Anne

MikeUniformMike · 26/03/2019 13:45

I don't like Riley. Anne was very popular as a mn in the middle decades of the 20th century so seems dated but maybe it is due a revival.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 26/03/2019 17:34

Sorry but I think Riley is really bad for a girl or boy.

Needadoughnut · 26/03/2019 17:37

American and / or chavvy.

NabooThatsWho · 26/03/2019 17:40

I like Riley. Not keen on Anne.
If you like trendy names OP then Mumsnet isn’t a good place to ask name opinions.

aliceandkids77 · 26/03/2019 20:57

very pretty I like it OP x

aliceandkids77 · 26/03/2019 20:58

@Divgirl2 how funny of you to say, I know a staffie called Riley!

Bohemond · 26/03/2019 21:01

Everyone is being very polite - what they are really thinking is that it is horribly chavvy.

Chocmallows · 26/03/2019 21:06

My son knew a Rylee (girl) in primary school. Mum insisted it was the female spelling, the name and spelling generated lots of raised eyebrows, including from other children. I wouldn't use it!

EngagedAgain · 26/03/2019 21:14

Anna is much nicer than Anne, which is a bit dated now.
