I've narrowed it down to these three and love them all. Which do you like best?

If that was my list then Romilly every time

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 25/03/2019 12:26

Not Juno if there's a German connection and you'll get the Y pronunciation or, worse, people trying to say it in what they imagine is the English way and making 'Chuno' out of it. (All J names were out for us for this reason). Otherwise, it's my favourite. I find Romilly faddy and it doesn't travel at all. Elke is hipster in the UK and 'late middle-aged lady with dyed red hair and a rucksack with little mirrors on' in Germany.

The only Elke I've ever known was a boy.

Only one Ive ever come across was the actress, Elke Sommers.

Tamsyn143 · 25/03/2019 13:44

My daughter is called Romilly and we get loads of compliments x

KathyS901 · 25/03/2019 13:54

Finally! Someone else has said that Romilly reminds them of Rommel! This is ALL I can think of when I see the name Romilly. Elke makes me think of Elks. So Juno it is!

stitchwitch84 · 25/03/2019 14:08

Going against the crowd: Elke is the best of the three! It's a gorgeous name and I'd definitely shortlist it if I were even slightly Germanic.

Juno makes me think of Junoesque…

aliceandkids77 · 25/03/2019 17:17

not Elke, it reminds me of the animal! I think Romilly and Juno are both very pretty though, you may want to wait and see what she looks like and suits? x

NightmareLoon · 25/03/2019 17:29

One of my best friends growing up was an Elke so I love the name.

Aozora13 · 25/03/2019 17:31

Love them all! DD was almost Romilly (DH vetoed Juno because of the film) but we went for Saskia in the end

Bumblebeesmum · 25/03/2019 17:48

Elke was originally a diminutive for Adelaide which I much prefer
Romilly prob my favourite of your list

belleandbaby · 25/03/2019 19:22

definitely Juno, it's gorgeous x :)

Juno Romilly - problem solved

outpinked · 27/03/2019 11:06

Juno

MikeUniformMike · 27/03/2019 11:08

Juno. Not keen on any of them. Guess Elke is pronounced Elk-uh.

NightmareLoon · 29/03/2019 07:23

El-kee

nocluenoidea · 29/03/2019 07:38

Juno or Elke

I really find Romilly a hard one to pronounce as it doesn't flow very well so just sounds awkward. Though the nicknames Romy or Milly are cute

Sessy19 · 29/03/2019 19:53

Absolutely ADORE Elke, and it’s on our list. Romilly is sweet, reminds me of the actress Romola Garai. Juno not only reminds me of the film, but I knew a Juno who’s a lovely girl. Great list, OP! 😊

TatianaLarina · 30/03/2019 08:44

Love Romilly.

Elke would end up pronounced Elk here.

EleanorOalike · 30/03/2019 09:43

Elke, only because I know an Elka and think it’s a lovely, unusual name.

Dramatical · 30/03/2019 09:52

Juno too masculine sounding.

When i read the OP I thought the names were for a boy until I saw this comment Confused
