What are people's thoughts on this name? For a boy or girl?

@skiptrip - I see I am not the only one

MigThePig · 20/03/2019 21:34

I see it as a girl's name as I associate it with Daria from the 90's cartoon. Quinn was her popular little sister.
I loved the name back then and still do despite all the "quim" comments that always come up when this name is mentioned on MN, I've never heard quim used in real life.

XWey · 21/03/2019 19:24

I like it! The only Quinn I know is a boy.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 21/03/2019 19:32

Reminds me of One Tree Hill. I used to love that show when I was young Blush I much prefer it for a girl.

FizzyGreenWater · 22/03/2019 17:25

Quim, sorry - it would be a no from me.

Also makes me think of DR QUINN MEDICINE WOMAN!!!!!

mathanxiety · 23/03/2019 03:23

I think it's about to cross the Atlantic and become as big as Finn in the UK. If you want a child with a name that is very popular, choose Quinn.

Fifteenthnamechange · 23/03/2019 04:02

Love it for either!

I like it!

Makes me think of:

Pengy Quinn on Baby Jake who slaps his feet in time!

Quinn on homeland, who was a great character before he became very psychologically damaged!

I prefer Quinn to Finn or Flynn. The Q is a cool initial!

StealthQuin · 23/03/2019 11:33

I’ve name changed for this because it’s very outing Grin

Quin is my name! And I’m a woman. I love it now I’m older Smile but the trauma of never having anything with my initial or my name on lives on 😂 and I must explain my name at least 3/4 times a week...

StealthQuin · 23/03/2019 11:34

Oh and never had the ‘Quim’ issue Hmm

ThriftyMcThrifty · 24/03/2019 05:04

Love it. I only know girls called Quinn in real life, but wouldn’t be shocked if I met a boy Quinn as I remember the one in Homeland.

sunflower332 · 24/03/2019 10:43

I like it. I know a couple of boys named Quinn.

According to ons it was more popular for boys last year.

MunsteadWood · 24/03/2019 11:07

I know a 2yo boy called Quinn. It's a lovely name.

MunsteadWood · 24/03/2019 11:08

Never heard the word "quim" before. MNers have a knack for finding funny associations for any name!

Hushnownobodycares · 24/03/2019 12:09

First thought was also 'quim'

FizzyGreenWater - French and Saunders did a Dr Quinn spoof with a Dr Quimm lead character back in the day Grin

sunflower332 · 24/03/2019 14:18

Never heard of quim ever... also Quinn sounds nothing like that!

Great name!
