Do you like the name Chloe?

Hi! My husband and I don’t agree on many names! But he likes Chloe!
We like short, sweet, feminine sounding names I’m just not feeling like others love the name. I know this shouldn’t matter. My sis says it’s a cat name which it is a popular animal name. I’m on the BabyCenter blog and a lot of commenters seem to dislike the sound of the name. I love it and think it sounds timeless and feminine. I love the meaning of it too( little green shoot, or blooming) and it’s also a biblical name so it’s been around forever.
I have a Lily and a Grant so Chloe would go pretty well. We’re thinking Chloe Anne or Chloe Annabel as a family name. Opinions are welcome. Thank you! Also we have a 3 syllable last name.
Other names on our list:
Rachel Anne ( initials would be RAG)
Anna Claire
Claire Annabel
Charlotte Anne

I think it suits you style going by your other two DC names.
They sound good as a set of siblings.

WallisFrizz · 12/03/2019 19:34

We clearly have the same taste in names as I already have an Anna Rachel!

I like Chloe, not love it but if it was the only one we could agree on, I’d be happy.

mummymayhem18 · 12/03/2019 19:35

I think it's a lovely name ... which is why I named my daughter it nearly 13 years ago 🤣👍❤️

Pemba · 12/03/2019 19:37

I think Chloe is a very pretty timeless name. However you will get people saying it's very nineties. These people lack imagination.

Same with Claire (which I also love but personally slightly prefer the spelling Clare). Only then people with say it's very seventies/eighties. But both Chloe and Cla(i)re are lovely names. Cat name! What rubbish your sister is talking. Some pet owners give their animals human names, that's all.

Anna is also gorgeous, very classic.

Quite like Rachel and Charlotte too, but the others would be my favourites.

Notashandyta · 12/03/2019 19:37

We have a chloe. I must admit, i liked it but iit was my husband who loved it. We had already used Jasmine for our first dd, which was my preference! Anyway, I now love it and it really suits her. Such a pretty, classic name. I wouldn't worry too much what anyone else thinks...It's whether you like it that matters!

BlueDotty · 12/03/2019 19:39

It sounds like you talked yourself into it! My Chloe is 21! Still love it and so does she!

Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark · 12/03/2019 19:41

Love it!

Fatted · 12/03/2019 19:41

Well, I have a relative who is Chloe Ann. She is a bit older and named before it became quite as popular as it has been in recent years.

villainousbroodmare · 12/03/2019 19:43

I prefer Rachel and Anna. What about Cleo? Less "sweet" than Chloe.

Ribbonsonabox · 12/03/2019 19:46

I think Chloe is lovely! I'd go with Chloe Anne.

zen1 · 12/03/2019 19:47

I like your names. I would go for Chloe Rachel.

gluteustothemaximus · 12/03/2019 19:47

I love the name Chloe.

ChloePD · 12/03/2019 19:51

I'm a Chloe Anne and I love it Grin good luck

QuantamBaby · 12/03/2019 19:53

I love the name Chloe, I think it's a classic!

Normandy144 · 12/03/2019 19:54

Sorry i don't like it. I think it was overdone in the late 80s/90s so not for me. I think Annabel is lovely and so is Charlotte.

Saffrona · 12/03/2019 19:59

Hi,

I will be honest that in my generation in the 80s/90s it was overused and seen as a....downmarket name (in my area and in my generation).

Now in this day in age it may not be seen as such, as it’s not used as much as before and may be viewed more as a...French name since the designer brand Chloe is more well known.

MummytoCSJH · 12/03/2019 20:11

Hopefully not outing, though I don't post much (anything?) on here I wouldn't be happy for people to know about. I'm a Chloe. It is easy to pronounce correctly for most people and not too common. I know a few others my age (90s) but it's not often you hear of younger children called Chloe. I never really thought about my name much until I joined mumsnet and saw all the debates about names and it made me really think. I love Chloe. It's simple but 'classic', goes with most other siblings names, middle names and surnames too.

stellarfox · 12/03/2019 20:14

I think it’s been a bit overused in the past but it’s still a nice name and I think it goes well with your other children’s names!

Ccec · 12/03/2019 20:18

I love the name Chloe, I do have to admit it's what I named my cat as its such a lovely name but I see it as my cat having a human name rather than the name being a cat name.
It would go perfectly with your other children ☺

Jag1777 · 12/03/2019 20:25

Thank you everyone! The comments are very helpful! Glad the Chloe’s on here like their name!
I need to not care so much what others think and toughen up! lol! Harder done than said!
I’m not as concerned about popularity or being dated. Im a Jessica and I always liked my name and meeting other Jessica’s! And at least the Chloe trend is like 10 years ago so maybe less of them in her class.
I feel like in her ultrasound she already looks like a Chloe! My daughter Lily totally looks like a Lily! We may bring our list on my csection day and see which name truly fits this baby! :)

I really like Chloe. Sod it being popular, it's very pretty and it would suit someone at all stages of life.

DramaAlpaca · 12/03/2019 20:36

It's not my style, but it fits with your other names nicely.

Ottercup · 12/03/2019 20:56

I'm a Chloe, I love it.

Sophronia · 13/03/2019 05:07

I much prefer Rachel, Anna or Claire.
