Following names are those that both DH and I have agreed are pretty. We initially wanted to name her Thea, but thought it was getting a bit too popular these days for our tastesGrin

Carina
Thalia
Eleni

Btw, DD will grow up as a Chinese-American, so please take that into consideration. I'm just saying this because some names have strong characteristics and our mutual friend said Eleni sounds too Greek for a person who doesn't have any Greek roots to have, which I think she has a point. Still, I'm eager to hear your opinionsWine Thank you!

I really like Thalia and Eleni, I think both were on my long list! Not mad on Carina though. Think I'd maybe just rank Thalia top, but not by much!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/02/2019 19:43

Carina. Don't like it.
Eleni. Gorgeous.
Thalia. If its Tally-er I love it. Don't like Th-al-ier

Cyberworrier · 28/02/2019 19:46

Love Thalia- I like what I think is the normal pronunciation Tahl- i ah. Also met someone who pronounced it Ta Leah.

MamaDane · 28/02/2019 19:48

Thalia is lovely

Rainsunwindhail · 28/02/2019 19:53

Carenza instead of Carina?

MondeoFan · 28/02/2019 19:54

Thalia is lovely

Carina is bloomin awful

Icklepup · 28/02/2019 20:02

Eleni is lovely!

PippilottaLongstocking · 28/02/2019 20:05

I like Thalia, not so keen on eleni
If Carina is pronounced Ca-reen-a then I really like it

PurpleCrowbar · 28/02/2019 20:11

Thalia is cool.

Eleni will get lost in a sea of Ella/Ellie/Eleanor, but is pretty.

Carina - a bit meh.

Pinkjellyfish · 28/02/2019 20:13

Thalia is really pretty - one of my favourite names at the moment
Eleni - again, lovely
Carina - nice but wouldn’t be my choice

GU24Mum · 28/02/2019 20:16

Eleni - like it but probably agree a bit with what your friend said.
Thalia - she'll spend her life saying "it's Thalia not Talia"... (or the other way round)
Carina - quite like this. Probably prefer Katrina or Cara but very inoffensive.

maamalady · 28/02/2019 20:34

Like Carina best (had a couple of schoolfriends with this name, one of whom was always Caz).
Eleni is nice.
Not fussed on Thalia, and suspect it will often be mispronounced and/or misspelled.

CoddledAsAMommet · 28/02/2019 20:53

I read the names and thought, 'oh, I didn't know Carina was Greek' as the other two are very Greek names. Corrina is lovely, Carina ok. If I saw Eleni or Thalia written down I would absolutely assume Greek heritage. Lovely names though!

Shadow1234 · 28/02/2019 21:09

Really like Carina
or Corrine as another suggestion

BlueMerchant · 28/02/2019 21:14

Carina- lovely- my fav
Thalia- ok but getting v.popular (at least where I live)
Eleni- no. Too much like Ellie&co.

Susannach · 28/02/2019 21:19

Eleni is beautiful

misstiggywinkle21 · 28/02/2019 21:29

Love Talia and Eleri....

BikeRunSki · 28/02/2019 21:33

I like Eleni best. The only one I know is from the midlands, with Eastern Europe heritage.

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 28/02/2019 21:36

Thalia is best - brilliant name. The muse of comedy IIRC. Eleni's a close second, very pretty. Carina's inoffensive and international but doesn't grab me, not in comparison to the others.

Lampy123 · 28/02/2019 21:36

Love Carina! Nn Carrie, Cara. Dont like the others.

Niceandflowy · 28/02/2019 21:38

Talia is a beautiful name! It's my 3yo DD name Grin

Quintella · 28/02/2019 22:31

I love Carina

OlennasWimple · 28/02/2019 22:33

Whichever one works best with your surname / her other names is best. They are all nice

SweetButaPsycho · 28/02/2019 22:55

Carina is my fabourite. It's my friend's name and she is awesome

MercyBodle · 28/02/2019 23:33
  1. Carina - this is lovely
  2. Eleni - I also think this is a great name but I do associate it strongly with Greek heritage. I think anyone can use it but I put it 2nd because I am a little unsure though. Eleanor, Leonor/e, Leonora as other options?
  3. Thalia - I don't know how to pronounce this. Is it the same as Tahlia? Tahlia is quite dated to me. Definitely the worst of the 3 I think.
