Following names are those that both DH and I have agreed are pretty. We initially wanted to name her Thea, but thought it was getting a bit too popular these days for our tastesGrin

Carina
Thalia
Eleni

Btw, DD will grow up as a Chinese-American, so please take that into consideration. I'm just saying this because some names have strong characteristics and our mutual friend said Eleni sounds too Greek for a person who doesn't have any Greek roots to have, which I think she has a point. Still, I'm eager to hear your opinionsWine Thank you!

Wow! So many positive reviews! Thank you guys soooo muchGrin
I see some people are confused over how the names would be pronounced, so I'll just list them down here haha

Thalia: Same as Tahlia, like "Tah-lee-ah"
Eleni: "L-n-e"
Carina: "Ka-ree-nah"

Talia nice not Thalia.
Eleni also nice

Hastag0417 · 01/03/2019 01:56

I love Thalia, beautiful unusual name. But once you see the baby you’ll know the name that fits perfectly and it could be any of them. 😊

KirstyT11 · 01/03/2019 12:38

All three are lovely. Think I prefer Eleni but I do see what people are saying re: Greek heritage. But if you like the name I dont think it matters really. Love carina too! Only worry with thalia like the others have said is will it be mispronounced.

MikeUniformMike · 01/03/2019 14:11

Of the 3, Carina, beecause it sounds as it it written.
Thalia is nice but I guess it's pronounced Tahl-ya.
Eleni is pronounced Elainy, and greek for Helen, and is nice.

FizzyGreenWater · 01/03/2019 14:24

Talia/Thalia is the best by a mile.

Carina is just slightly odd, like a mash up of Carla/Charlotte and Catriona/Catrina. Just misses the mark somehow and looks made up.

Eleni - I can't get past the fact that it means 'this year' in Welsh, I can only see that! But unlikely to be a problem for you.

TBH Thea is nicer than all of them, popular or not.

Ipanema01 · 01/03/2019 14:37

Just to be super annoying, I love Thea :)

MikeUniformMike · 01/03/2019 15:32

I dislike Thea. There are so many Theos and Mias. I'm not keen on the Th at the start and it gets said as Fea.

FriedaTheBreeder · 01/03/2019 15:35

Love Thalia and Eleni but not Carina which sounds very harsh.

FizzyGreenWater · 01/03/2019 15:42

True about the Fea thing!

How about Celia?

Flamingosnbears · 01/03/2019 15:52

Carina #2
Thalia #1
Eleni #3

Thalia is a beautiful name with good meaning for that reason I rate it as #1
