We’re really struggling to choose a name for our little girl! Let me know your favorites from our list. I’ve added our reservations that are holding us back from all of them.

Evelina - too long/ made up?
Phoebe - strange spelling?
Gracie - unsuitable for an adult/ professional job?
Rosie - boring?
Ivy - poison ivy/ IV drip?

I prefer Evelyn to evalina.
And grace to Gracie. You could name her grace and call her gracie?
Rosie is cute.

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 27/02/2019 13:25

Evelyn Grace is lovely

WildCherryBlossom · 27/02/2019 13:28

Evelyn Grace or Evelyn Rose...?

AnnaSparks · 27/02/2019 13:29

Unfortunately I’m not a fan of Evelyn. I do like Grace as a mn though!

Grace nn Gracie is lovely

Phoebe is the normal spelling isn't it?

I like Ivy

Littlebelina · 27/02/2019 13:31

Eveline is a real name but reminds me of the hospital. However if you are outside of the south east\ never had a sick child you probably won't have the same association.

I prefer Rose or Grace as names but with the NN Rosie\Gracie?

Phoebe is my fav of your options. Ivy seems quite trendy at mo

Littlebelina · 27/02/2019 13:32

Evelina not Eveline obvs

Arowana · 27/02/2019 13:32

I love your names! Grace/Gracie, Rose/Rosie and Ivy are my favourites.

MollyYouInDangerGirl · 27/02/2019 13:36

Evelina - never heard of this before tbh but I actually quite like it! Although I think your other options are nicer personally
Phoebe - isn't that the normal spelling? I think its lovely
Gracie - Gracie might not age too well but as a nickname for grace could work?
Rosie - I like this
Ivy - I like this as well!

I think phoebe is my favourite from your list followed by ivy

FuzzyShadowChatter · 27/02/2019 13:41

I think your whole list is lovely, though Evelina is by far my favourite (Evelina Grace is great!). Gracie and Rosie would be more nicknames to me than full names, but still nice.

ReginaPhalange89 · 27/02/2019 13:42

Evelina - not keen, it does sound made up to me , I've never heard of it
Phoebe - this is the correct spelling ! I have a Phoebe and love it . Had so many compliments on it since she was born 2 years ago!
Gracie - I'd say yes it's a bit cutesy and childish, grace would be better with nn Gracie
Rosie - I really like it
Ivy - love this too !

AnnaSparks · 27/02/2019 14:09

This feedback is super helpful! Thank you.

Yes Phoebe is the correct spelling, it’s more a worry that people will call her Pee-o-be or something like that if they’ve never heard of it. Probably not a problem in the UK but we travel all over with my husbands work. Maybe not something I should worry about though

I love Ivy and Phoebe.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/02/2019 14:53

No people won't think her name is Phoe-bee as That's the recognized spelling for it Just Like no one refers to an Isla as Iss-la
or Niamh as Nee-ma.
All your names are nice. I think Gracie is nicest. I wouldn't worry about it sounding too childish. You can argue that for any name ending in a Y or ie sound. There are plenty of Lilys Chloes Evies ect ect.
My dd is Molly. She's doing okay.
Gracie Evelina is gorgeous or
Gracie Rose.
Phoebe Evelina
Evelina Grace
Evelina Rose
Rosie Evelina
Ivy Rose.
Phoebe Rose.

Barbarafromblackpool · 27/02/2019 14:55

Phoebe

Ellabella989 · 27/02/2019 15:01

Ivy is lovely

Didyeeaye · 27/02/2019 15:21

Ivy and Phoebe are my favourites from your list.

RiverTam · 27/02/2019 15:24

Evelina - too long/ made up? - No, it's a perfectly valid name
Phoebe - strange spelling? - no, every knows that's how you spell Phoebe
Gracie - unsuitable for an adult/ professional job? - go for Grace and she can return to that when she's older if she likes
Rosie - boring? go with Rose?
Ivy - poison ivy/ IV drip? - just not a very nice name.

daisypond · 27/02/2019 15:25

Evelina - it's OK, but it's the name of a big children's hospital, so that might be the first thing people thing of. A bit flowery for my taste.
Phoebe - great. It's the correct spelling, so it's not strange!
Gracie - too twee for my tastes. Grace is lovely, though.
Rosie - too twee for my tastes. Rose is lovely.
Ivy - I'm not a fan. It's a weed.

CloserIAm2Fine · 27/02/2019 18:32

I love Phoebe, I think it’s recognisable enough that you shouldn’t have pronunciation issues.

LoopyLoonyLuna · 27/02/2019 18:46

Love Phoebe and quite like Ivy
Don’t like Evelina - sounds made up and there are so many Eve’s, Evie’s, Eva’s around.
Gracie sounds very twee and reminds me of Gracie-Lou from Miss Congeniality. Tbh I don’t like Grace it’s just a bit dull and every other child has it as a middle name
Rosie is ok, again a little dull but ok

MercyBodle · 28/02/2019 07:50

Phoebe and Rosie are my favourites. I think people will get to know the Phoebe spelling and pronunciation if they don't already, and I can see Rosie working well for an adult. Evelina is over-the-top for me - I much prefer the more streamlined Eva. Gracie is nice but I prefer Grace nn Gracie. I like Ivy but it's getting a bit too popular considering its similarity to Evie and Ava.

KingHenrysCodpiece · 28/02/2019 08:42

Not keen on Evelina but it is a real name and perfectly valid. I like the misspelled Evaline better though!

Not keen on Phoebe either, the snob in me thinks it's very popular right now.

Like Gracie. Unusual and whimsical and for professional purposes can always insist on being called Grace.

I like these combos

Gracie Rose
Ivy Rose
Evalina grace
Phoebe Grace?

sarahjayne82 · 28/02/2019 09:42

I'm bias but I have an Ivy Belle and think it's a beautiful name! It is definitely becoming more popular though. Gracie is lovely too

BlueChampagne · 28/02/2019 12:32

How about a longer version of Rosie, and Rosie for short?

Rosanne/a
