Hello, my husband and I have picked the name Winter for our baby girl. I know it may not be everyone's style but we've fell in love with it. We can not find a middle name that we love with it and would really appreciate some help. Our last name is Mac Laughlin. We also do not want names that are too common like Emma, Olivia, Abigail, Charlotte, Isabella ect.. they are beautiful but not for us. Thank you for your help

Eve, Grace, Rose, Paige, Kate

If your not careful it can sound like your naming a paint colour or a lipstick not a person so I'd avoid Rose, Skye, etc.

You don’t have to give a middle name.
We couldn’t find one we liked so our daughter has none.

TildaTurnip · 25/02/2019 11:05

I’d avoid a ‘word’ middle name such as Rose as Winter then sounds like an adjective.

Winter is a beautiful name! Rose goes really well with it imo

The name goes very well with your surname.
What about Mattea (pronounced Matt - aye - ah)
Ann or Anna
Nicole
Jane, Jean
Joanna
Helena

I actually like a “word” middle name that sounds like an adjective. Winter Rose makes me think of a grey blue frosty rose.

percheron67 · 25/02/2019 11:33

Poor child. Solstice?

TildaTurnip · 25/02/2019 13:10

grey blue frosty
Not really what you’d want to associate a child with surely?!

I would perhaps give them a semi normal middle name - at the end of the day you need to imagine your child in a professional environment one day and so they may want to use a more standard name in those circumstances?

MrsPussinBoots · 25/02/2019 13:42

I know a Winter Dawn and a Winter Rose. What about Starr?

QuickRedFox · 25/02/2019 13:46

With a strong name like Winter (love it), I wouldn’t give a middle name. Almost nothing will sound right.

Winter Isla

Well I think it’s cool. Winter Rose sounds like a model or a singer. I can imagine her as an adult with a blue rose tattooed on her shoulder.
